I break out every time I wear makeup

So I used to wear makeup on a daily basis, I realized my skin needed to breathe, so I decided to cut it down and wear it only on special occasions. Lately, I've been focusing on my skincare rather than makeup, but it seems like every time I wear any foundation or just face makeup in general I break out. I was thinking that it's just my skin reacting to it because it's so used to not wearing makeup so when I do it's just a reaction? Any thoughts?

some people's skin just doesn't like wearing makeup. I would suggest a light coverage foundation so that you soon may be able to breathe more. Washing your face two times a day is also critical. when you are done wearing makeup, instead of just using remover. Do that but also wash your face to try and keep your pores unclogged. one last thing I suggest would be to close your pores before putting on makeup. Something cold usually does the trick, like ice.
