Hair Conditioner causing face acne

I started noticing in the last few months that any conditioner or hair styling products will cause an acne breakout around my temples, my cheeks and my neck. It’s really frustrating because I have very coarse, wavy hair that needs hydration but I also don’t want to deal with pimples as an adult. I never wear foundation, I wash my face twice a day but it’s not enough to keep my face acne free. Are there hydrating hair products that won’t break me out or do I have to choose between healthy hair and healthy looking skin? Thanks

Re: Hair Conditioner causing face acne

@sasouchan what conditioner are you using? if it's got some heavy oils like coconut oil, those might be clogging your pores. Maybe try using a micellar water or a toner around the areas you're breaking out in, after you get out of the shower. Use a headband to keep the hair away from your face and neck while the product absorbs or you blow dry. Not all conditioners should cause you to break out, you probably just need to identify the ingredient that is the culprit.

Re: Hair Conditioner causing face acne

Don't apply your conditioner so close to your roots, @sasouchan for a few weeks and see if that helps, especially with the temples.Try to keep your hair out of your face or up while the products absorb? Additionally washing your face after your conditioner, if you're not already. A derm might also be able to help pinpoint which specific ingredients are causing issues.
