HELP!

My skin care was fine until I started using the glow recipe strawberry smooth blur drops. They made me break out into tiny red bumps across my cheeks and jawline since then they won’t go away. I’ve tried everything I’ve tried the tower 28 spray. I’ve tried not using skin care at all. They just won’t go away any tips?

Re: HELP!

@skincareGlobel  Sorry your skin’s throwing a tantrum. 😞 Here’s what I do when my skin gets irritated like that:

  • Cold compress - put a wet cool (not ice cold) washcloth or microfiber cloth on your face and let it sit for 5-10 minutes.

  • Roll your skincare routine way back to basics - gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and daytime sunscreen. Also, consider skipping the morning wash; just gently rinse your face in the morning, and see if that helps your skin calm down. Avoid using any exfoliating products (no AHA like glycolic or lactic acid, or BHA like salicylic acid) and things like retinol and ascorbic acid (vitamin C); if you were using them before, put ‘em all on temporary hold. You can go back to using them once your skin’s healed.

  • Soothing ingredients - try finding a cleanser and moisturizer that contain one or more of these: oats, green tea, licorice root, allantoin, or centella asiatica. When my skin’s in tantrum mode, I replace my usual cleanser with The INKEY List Oat Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm 5/150 and let it sit on my face as a 10-minute soothing mask before rinsing it off. e.l.f. Pure Skin Cleanser is another gentle cleanser that contains oats.

  • Be patient - this issue won’t go away overnight. If it persists for weeks, consider seeing a board certified dermatologist or primary care doctor to get your skin diagnosed and treated.

You may be sensitive to something in that Glow Recipe product. Or you might’ve overused it: I know GR claims you can use it twice daily, but not everyone’s skin can handle salicylic acid that frequently. If you try salicylic acid again (once your skin’s healed), consider a different brand/product and use it just 1-3 times a week to see how your skin tolerates it.

Re: HELP!

Have you looked into less expensive alternatives or layering products, @skincareGlobel?
