Fungal acne

I keep getting reoccurring fungal acne on my forehead. Just wondering how one would clear that up?#acne

Re: Fungal acne

@sadieat123  “Fungal acne” isn’t really acne at all. Those tiny itchy bumps are caused by the yeast we all normally have on our skin: they can get rowdy sometimes and camp out in hair follicles.

If you’re sure that’s what you have, you can try washing your forehead with a dandruff shampoo that contains either ketoconazole (Nizoral shampoo), selenium sulfide (Selsun Blue shampoo), or pyrithione zinc (Vanicream Dandruff shampoo, Head and Shoulders, CeraVe Anti-Dandruff shampoo). Or try a pyrithione zinc cleanser bar: Vanicream Z-Bar is my favorite, available direct from the brand or at Amazon.

If doing that a few days/nights per week doesn’t work, then it’s time to see a dermatologist or primary care doctor.
