Foundation help!

Hi!

I’m wondering if anyone has any foundation suggestions for someone with combination dry and oily skin, and is also acne prone?

I’m looking for something full coverage preferably! Looking to try something new.

Thanks so much!

Re: Foundation help!

@PaytonnEvans, you should consult with a dermatologist if you haven't, just because acne can have different root causes, even amongst similar skin types.  I'm combo skin, but my acne is more prone to hormones and sensitivity to products vs other types.

I know something I learned was funny abuse actives , sometimes acne prime skin needs a little love, so use a good hydrator, preferably gel and limit actives (AHA, BHA, retinol, etc) to either 1-2 x/wk and build up to tolerance.  Or, use in target areas only vs all over your face.

LED, blue light, can /do wonders.  But, you have to do it consistently.  (This is also why you want to see a derm, because that can be provided there or might not be necessary.)

For foundation, I actually prefer medium coverage, you can always spot conceal with a full coverage foundation while keeping it lighter with a medium foundation in other areas.  Blurring primers are also helpful, the silicone in them helps "blur" the appearance of texture.

I love the foundation sample pack at Sephora.  You get a bunch of samples, but you can still use it on any foundation.  It's like a down payment on foundation.
