Does tingling = working?

Hi, recently i bought the Paula's choice 2% bha liquid exfoliant. However when applied it to my face, i dont feel any tingling sensation. I'm worried that the product might not work because I've read some skincare blogs that states that there should be a tingling sensation when you apply exfoliant on your face. Anybody have used the product before? did it gave any stinging or tingling feeling when you apply it and most importantly, did it work?

Re: Does tingling = working?

No definitely not. In fact, tingling can mean irritation which is not what you want @Anonymous

Re: Does tingling = working?

As someone did mention here yes tingling isnt really necessary. I know for some things like glycolic acid tingling is a part of it. But just be careful as if you have sensitive skin tingling can become burning. Perhaps try and only use it like only once in a while...perhaps three times a week

Re: Does tingling = working?

@Anonymous your chemical exfoliant does NOT need to tingle to indicate it is working. Tingling is usually just a sign that your skin is getting used to the product and it will actually go away with continued use. If the tingle exceeds to a burning sensation it can actually mean it is damaging your skin barrier and causing a chemical burn.

@meou omg i've always thought they should always tingle on your skin when applied. That was a lot of help, thanks!
