Does the tower 28 sos spray work

I am wanting one or maybe two things that I can use to help. I don’t want a 10 step skincare routine I just want a few simple products. I am thinking about trying the SOS spray but any recommendations?!?

Re: Does the tower 28 sos spray work

Currently for my cleanser I am using Purpose gentle cleanser it has helped keep away acne but it’s not taking away what I already have it just kinda keeps it the same. I was using the strawberry salicylic acid from glow recipe but that’s doing the same as my cleanser, just leaving it as it is. I did start using the glow recipe watermelon toner and that did help some.

Re: Does the tower 28 sos spray work

@UrBestFriend  You mean does it work to treat acne? It’s a hypochlorous acid spray, and that ingredient is antibacterial and anti-inflammatory (also anti-fungal and antiviral), so it can help reduce acne inflammation/redness and acne-causing bacteria. I personally think Tower 28’s spray is overpriced: there are several other hypochlorous acid sprays on the market that cost considerably less. (I always use SkinSmart’s spray and buy it from Amazon). Eh, you could buy the mini size of T28’s spray and see how you like it.

Hypochlorous acid alone won’t fully treat acne. Also, different types of acne need different treatments; a dermatologist can help you with that. Generally though, your routine can be this simple:

  1. Cleanser (PM, optional AM) - what do you currently use to wash your face? Some types of acne respond well to benzoyl peroxide, so a dermatologist might recommend you use a PanOxyl face wash in the morning or night. A salicylic acid cleanser can also help some types of acne; CeraVe Acne Control Cleanser is a good one, or consider The INKEY List Salicylic Acid Acne + Blackhead Cleanser. You might not need to use an acne cleanser each day or night; you could alternate it with your usual non-drying cleanser.

  2. Treatment (as needed) - this is where you’d use a hypochlorous acid spray, or something like Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Exfoliating Toner for Clear Skin, Paula's Choice CLEAR Anti-Redness Exfoliating Solution with 2% Salicylic Acid 4 oz/ 118 mL, The INKEY List Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA) Blemish + Blackhead Serum 1 oz/ 30 mL, etc. I’m listing salicylic acid leave-ons here, but if you use a BHA cleanser then you probably don’t need additional BHA products. You might instead consider using azelaic acid, which attacks acne-causing bacteria and fights post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (like dark marks left by acne). My favorite OTC azelaic acid product is Paula's Choice 10% Azelaic Booster for Redness Relief 1 oz, but also consider The Ordinary Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% Cream for Redness and Blemish-Prone Skin, Peach Slices Redness Relief Azelaic Acid Serum, or The INKEY List SuperSolutions 10% Azelaic Serum 1 oz / 30 mL. Or a dermatologist might recommend a retinoid or other medication for your particular acne.

  3. Moisturizer (PM & AM) - which one’s right for you depends on your skin type/behavior. A good basic moisturizer is Vanicream Moisturizing Lotion. Also consider other moisturizers by Vanicream and CeraVe, or maybe your skin would like one of The Inkey List’s moisturizers. When my facial skin’s in bad reaction mode, I sometimes use an Aveeno body lotion (either the Skin Relief or Eczema Therapy one) on my face because colloidal oats really calm my skin down. Whichever moisturizer you choose, apply it while your skin’s damp (but not dripping wet).

  4. Broad spectrum sunscreen (AM) - at least SPF 30, applied generously to all skin exposed to sunlight and reapplied every couple hours of sun exposure, all year long, regardless of weather or season. Do you already use a sunscreen?

Since I mentioned Paula’s Choice, they sell a good acne kit you may want to consider as a full skincare routine: Paula's Choice Mini CLEAR Skin Starter Set with Salicylic Acid and Benzoyl Peroxide.

@UrBestFriend @I have tried it but didn’t like it for my combo skin more on the dry side.
