Cystic Acne

I have had cystic acne for about 4 years now that started when I got diagnosed with PCOS. It's pretty mild cystic acne. I'm looking for recommendation on a skin care routine to keep my skin from breaking out as much as possible. Like what products are must haves for a daily skin care routine.

RE: Cystic Acne

I just saw your post and had replied to a similar thread. I had cystic acne too. I was on accutane at one point. I walked into a Sephora store and asked for a serum for my out of control acne. The Rep said that skincare wouldn’t be effective with all the stuff in my skin. Applying serum on clogged skin wasn’t effective. The rep suggested that I get a Clarisonic which I did. It was expensive and I did havebreakouts initially, but it was a turning point for my skin. Considering I had cystic acne, a few pimples here and there that didn’t cause pain were ok with me. Then, about two years ago, I got tired of the few pimples. I found Eve Lom cleanser which has a special cleansing system which takes a few minutes, but 100% transformed my skin. I put in the time to cleanse my skin with the Muslin cloth that comes with the cleanser. It has been amazing. I also use the Rescue Mask. I no longeruse the Clarisonic. As a side note, I was buying an eye cream yesterday, and I was talking about how I have acne prone skin, the Rep said “oh, your skin is completely clear”. It was nice to hear after having acne well into my late 20s.

Sunday Riley Good Genes for acne and acne scarring. My daughter has cystic acne and its becoming a holy grail for her.

RE: Cystic Acne

I definitely recommend Sunday Riley’s Ceramic Slip cleanser. I get bad cystic acne and it helps them heal within a few days vs a few weeks.

RE: Cystic Acne

Oh and you can’t buy it from here, you have to buy it from a website called shoprescuespa but Biologique Recherge’s Lotion P50 has changed my skin as well. I get far less cystic breakouts since using the toner (which is actually a lactic acid exfoliant). It smells like apple cider vinegar and can take some getting used to but I can only say positive things about it.

Re: Cystic Acne

Also, a lot of products for clearing acne are too strong for my skin so I'm looking for something for sensitive skin BUT that actually works. A lot of the products I've tried that are geared towards people with acne AND sensitive skin don't really work that well.
