Post in Acne-Prone Skin

Best cleanser

Hi don’t know if anyone will reply but I have been using clinique cleanser fir my acne prone oily skin. Feel like it’s not working anymore and dealing with bad break outs around chin . Can someone suggest me the best acne prone products like cleanser ? Please. I was going for kiehl or proactive , like one if these. Suggestions please

RE: Best cleanser

I personally use the proactiv cleanser and love it. It keeps away acne and helps with texture. Make sure to moisturize after:)

RE: Best cleanser

I would recommend trying a cleanser that isn’t specifically for acne. Something like Farmacy’s Clean Bee. That way you effectively cleanse your skin without over drying or further irritating it. Also making sure you wash your hands before you wash your face helps too!

Best cleanser

If your skin is irritated, I recommend a gentle cleanser that's free of sulfates, fragrance, and essential oils, like the First Aid Beauty cleanser. Then, once your skin is feeling not as sensitive, dry or itchy, I'd recommend a cleanser with benzoyl peroxide - I've had great results with the new CeraVe acne foaming cleanser, it's gentle and creamy but effective.

Re: Best cleanser

@DEEP93 I'd recommend using a gentle cleanser and then getting a treatment to help with the acne/oil. You really need a whole routine to combat those kinds of issues. The problem with a lot of harsh cleansers (like the Proactiv) is that they dry out your skin, stripping it of moisture that it needs, and can exacerbate your problems. What products do you currently use in your routine, if any?

Re: Best cleanser

Hi @DEEP93  - If you have oily skin and feel like you breakout a lot then I would go with the "DERMALOGICA Breakout Clearing Foaming Wash" or "PROACTIV Renewing Cleanser". I would just be careful that it doesn't dry out your skin too much. Make sure to apply a great moisturizer after like the "DERMALOGICA Active Moist Moisturizer" or "BELIF Peat Miracle Revital Cream".

Some other great cleansers are "JACK BLACK Deep Dive Glycolic Facial Cleanser" & "KIEHL'S SINCE 1851 Calendula Deep Clean Foaming Face Wash".
