BACK ACNE

I have back acne. I also have black spots from where the acne was. I am looking for a product that I could use on my back to help not only control the acne, but too also fade away the black spots? The facial treatment that I use works wonderful but is said to not be used on the body, just face.

Dose anyone know of a good product?

Does anyone know if Murad is something that I could use?

Re: BACK ACNE

Wash back last. Hair product residue can contribute to acne There's more ingredient /strength options via the derm route: washes, topicals etc. Also ask about back facials and chemical peels. For an exfoliator, I like Ahava mineral body exfoliator, cleanses well too. Oatmeal baths will calm the skin too.

Re: BACK ACNE

Hi @Anonymous,

I get occasional breakouts on my chest and back, especially after a workout, and I have found that the MURAD Acne Body Wash definitely helps! I try and shower immediately after a workout and this helps keep breakouts at bay.

If you don't always have time for a shower, I recommend the Murad Clarifying Body Spray - this is super easy and convenient as it's a 360 spray which helps breakouts wherever they occur!

Stay Fabulous,
Zanna

Re: BACK ACNE

@Anonymous I'm not sure why a face treatment couldn't be used on the body - which one is it?

I rec treating your back as you would your face.  So, that means using a gentle liquid cleanser.  Although there are many good body washes out there (like Neutrogena), you may wish to use whatever works on your face on your back.  I like FAB Face Cleanser, but CeraVe also has nice ones that are more affordable.

Next, BHA is helpful.  I only rec Paula's Choice.  It comes in 1, 2, 4 and 9%.  I think you could start at 2%.  The company has promos frequently - just sign up for the e-mails.  Also, Nordstrom has some of their products.

Benzoyl peroxide is good for spot treatments.  Clean & Clear Persa-gel is great; Target has a knock-off that is probably equivalent.  The thing to remember is that benzoyl peroxide can bleach clothing, sheets (even hair) so be careful when using.

Best of luck!  Things will get better!  🙂

Re: BACK ACNE

I struggle with awful bacne, too. Here are some things that have helped me:

-Getting some sun.

-Making my husband clean my back with my Clarisonic. I know not everyone has the option, but that has helped tremendously!

-Medicated acne scrubs. I just use drugstore ones most of the time.

-Eating less dairy. Even though it's delicious.

Bonus: Bromine. If I soak in my in-laws' hot tub that's treated with bromine, my bacne clears up almost completely in a couple days. 90% chance that won't be helpful, but if I have to show my back in public and I don't have much time for my back to heal, I go soak in their hot tub for a while. It's a game changer. Lol.

Hope this was at least a little helpful. Good luck!
