Acne scars

Does anyone have recommendations for dark persistent acne scars? I got really bad hormonal acne from an IUD and have red/purple spots all over my cheeks from that time even though I got my IUD removed over a year ago now. I’m still getting a few new breakouts due to cycle changes but the biggest issue is the scarring. I’ve tried Paula’s choice retinol which was decent but didn’t actually get rid of much. Same with farmacy vitamin C. Any recommendations are so helpful and appreciated

Depending on what your current routine is, @moscatomegs, I'd consider either a 20% ascorbic acid or an AHA a couple days a week.
