Acne and redness

So I have had a constant struggle with acne. I clean my face every night and I always add moisturizer in the morning. I’ve tried different brands like Kate somevillie, CeraVe, Drunk elephant, and lots of smaller businesses. Nothing seems to work. I always get acne redness as well, without picking. Please give me some recommendations. Thank you!!

Maybe what you need is a more gentle exfoliating product. This is the one I’ve been using recently and I haven’t experienced irritation alpyn beauty Wild Huckleberry Brightening Peel Mask for Sensitive Skin 1.7 oz / 50 mL

Re: Acne and redness

Drunk elephant includes alot of acids which can be harmful for acne prone skin, I also have acne prone skin I do everything and it doesn't go away, stressing, crying, and not removing makeup are little things that leads to breakout. I would recommend a dermatologist if it continues girl. Goodluck!!!

Re: Acne and redness

I think you’ll really like the alpyn beauty pore perfecting liquid. I also struggle with similar issues as you and this really hydrates and calms redness without making my skin angry

Re: Acne and redness

@DatgirlAlOx  Have you already seen a board certified dermatologist to get your skin diagnosed? All types of acne don’t respond well to the same ingredients. Example: salicylic acid (BHA) probably won’t touch cystic acne.

I could throw lots of random product suggestions at you, but it’d be better for you to see a derm or your primary care doctor if you can. That way, you’ll get personalized treatment options. A derm can prescribe things like Rx-strength vitamin A (adapalene, tretinoin, etc.) or other meds to target acne, and recommend other helpful treatments/procedures.

But if you really want product suggestions: If you haven’t tried OTC-strength adapalene yet, visit your local drugstore (or Target, if you’re in the US) and get Differin Gel or La Roche-Posay Effaclar Adapalene Gel. Be sure to follow the instructions for either of those 2 products. You do not want to overdo adapalene right away. Also, if you’ve never tried benzoyl peroxide before, consider grabbing a tube of PanOxyl 4% benzoyl peroxide face wash while you’re at the store. For post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (like dark/red marks left by acne), consider azelaic acid, perhaps Paula's Choice 10% Azelaic Acid Booster for Redness Relief 1 oz/ 30 mL , The INKEY List SuperSolutions 10% Azelaic Serum Redness Relief Solution 1 oz / 30 mL , The Ordinary Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% Cream for Redness and Blemish-Prone Skin 1 oz/ 30 mL , or Peach Slices Redness Relief Azelaic Acid Serum (available at Ulta).

And be sure to wear broad spectrum sunscreen (minimum SPF 30) each day your skin’s exposed to sunlight, all year long, regardless of weather or season. UV rays can worsen acne.
