Acne Scars vs Large Pores

Hey ladies, I’ve been dealing with both acne scars and large pores and was wondering which issue do I tackle first or are there some great products that I can use to help me deal with both issues at the same time? And definitely please link or recommend some products that you believe will help. (Yayyyy to my first post lol)

Re: Acne Scars vs Large Pores

For acne scars, use a derma roller! They are tiny needles that pierce the top layer of your skin and helps speed up collagen production, which helps your scars to heal faster. It's also great for hyperpigmentation and wrinkles. And the smaller sizes do not hurt for me. Not sure if Sephora sells them but Gin Amber Beauty has really great quality ones and they have a variety of sizes. Their website is really helpful and has a bunch of information and I think she has a youtube channel too.

I'm still struggling with large pores and whiteheads on and around my nose so I don't have any recommendations for that unfortunately!

RE: Re: Acne Scars vs Large Pores

Ooooo nice, thank you!!! How long have you been doing this?

Re: Acne Scars vs Large Pores

The REN glow tonic is super nice for acne scars! It has azelaic acid, which stops melanin production so your scars don't get darker as they heal!

Hey, thank you! Are referring to the toner?

Acne Scars vs Large Pores

I have textured acne scars. Ice pick, Rolling scars... 😩... They are more difficult to treat than large pores. For textured acne scars most OTC products will not give you the results your hoping for.. that being said there are many products that can help, over time and with patience can soften the appearance of them. but in the short term I would recommend a primer that FILLS in the scars and will also fill in the large pores. I love Murad Invisblur.. best Primer I have tried that gets even close to actually filling in any indents. Long term... anything that will stimulate cell turn over. Regular chemical peels. and a consistent skin care regimen... and no more picking!!! 😊😊 Ladies, any help here??

Thank you!! What do you mean by a primer that fills in?

as you know there are several types of primer. I find what works best for me is a "Pore Filling or Smoothing Primer". The silicone bases primers "fill" the best for me at least. My Favorites are: 1. Murad Invisiblur- All time favorite! Silicone based but can clog pores. 2. Urban Decay-Optical Illusion- This has a very nice blurring effect and softens up ridged skin texture. 3. Dermatological Hydroblur- Nice, thick consistency that blurs. 4. Catrice Face Perfector- This one is a bit tricky and I have not really experimented with it but it is a mousse like, whipped consistency and applies smooth but I feel it never dries enough even with setting powder. I will often layer primers too just to try and build upon one another for a more "filling" effect. Hope this helps. what works for me may not work for you but anything is worth a shot! ☺
