Accutane lip help

I'm on month 5 of Accutane and boy are my lips struggling and it's not even winter... out of all of the balms and treatments, which have been the most long lasting nourishment? The only thing that has at all helped is Aquaphor but it doesn't stay on very long.

Re: Accutane lip help

@sdubard I used to have a whole lip routine.   Here's what I did: LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask Intense Hydration with Vitamin C  in the morning,  Palmer's Cocoa Butter Swivel Stick at work, LANEIGE Lip Glowy Lightweight Hydration Balm with Shea Butter  after work (elf Squeeze Me is a dupe imho), Aquaphor while sitting on the couch in the evenings, Laneige mask at night with Aquaphor over top.  Good luck.  Let us know how it goes.

Re: Accutane lip help

Lip? Acne? I’m confused, if your using Accutane for yours lips stop immediately it’s very powerful (unless told to by a medical professional),  but are you talking about your acne or yours lips, remember, this is the acne group not lip group.

Re: Accutane lip help

@Bxterfly  Accutane is a medication for acne. I think it’s fine for someone to post in the acne-prone skin group for help with side effects of acne medication. One of those side effect, especially of accutane, is dry lips. Other acne patients who are taking (or have taken) accutane might have good advice for @sdubard

sdubard, when you apply Aquaphor, do you apply it to damp (with water, not saliva) lips? If yes and it’s still not moisturizing enough, then you may wanna try plain ol’ Vaseline or another brand of petroleum jelly. Aquaphor contains 41% petrolatum. CeraVe Healing Ointment contains 46.5% petrolatum. Vaseline is 100% petrolatum. The only thing more occlusive (water loss preventing) than that would be a hydrocolloid patch or mask (or something similar), and it’d be very impractical to wear one of those all day.

Do you wear lipstick, gloss, lip oil, etc. during the day?
