I am slowly trying to work toward getting my overflowing beauty stash organized in a way that's both functional and (hopefully) aesthetically pleasing. A couple of recent projects, with before & after pics:Perfume sample storage:before: total chaos, good luck finding anythingafter: neatly organized, easy to find what I'm looking forI am a little bit (or a lot) obsessed with trying new scents and can never resist a discovery set or free perfume sample, so my collection of perfume sample bottles is...quite large, as you can see 😅 Before, I had them all piled pretty much willy-nilly in a bathroom vanity drawer, and then a box. This was not a good system for me, as it made it quite difficult and annoying to find what I was looking for. So I purchased this clear organizer off of Amazon, and the shallow drawers are perfect for storing the little sample bottles! I now have everything organized alphabetically by brand (what can I say, I work at a library 😂), so I can find things easily. I want to get some nicer-looking labels (currently using masking tape), but overall I'm quite happy with how this project turned out.And today's project, organizing the skincare products on my bathroom vanity:before: oh boy, I have way too many open skincare products and they are taking over the bathroom counterafter: still have way too many open skincare products, but now they look much nicer and are easier to access!I have way too many open skincare products at the moment 😬, and they were taking up half of the bathroom countertop and things were stacked on top of each other and hard to get to. I bought this rotating organizer, also from Amazon, and was able to fit everything in it. Now the vanity looks much neater, and I won't end up knocking over half the containers every time I try to pick one thing up! 👍

Today's afternoon tea: Harney & Sons Hot Cinnamon Sunset, which is one of my favorites. This time I spiced it up (pun intended 😜) with a tiny bit of Mike's Hot Honey. I spent some time today cleaning my room and one of the things I did was reorganize my big box of tea so that everything is in one place and I can see it all easily. I definitely rediscovered some things I'd forgotten about!

@lmaster Thank you so much for my goody box today! I love everything! The avocado 🥑 earrings are adorable as well as the hair clip. I am always in need of pens and notebooks and love the messages on them. I can’t wait to try the dual ended IT cosmetics brush. It feels so soft and glad you love it too. Hugs 🤗❤️

Agreed. I’m not mad at the kids. I’m mad at the parents who are letting the kids make wrong choices that will actually impact them negatively. I stopped going into Sephora and Ulta. I like to shop in peace. It seems a small percentage of parents decided the best way for them to shop is to use stores as daycares. When I was a teen, I had fun picking out makeup with my mom. She taught me what was age appropriate. These kids are going to end up with all kinds of skin issues and potentially infections from the samples. I feel the parents are also robbing themselves of a bonding and teaching experience.

I was kind of a weird case because I was wearing a full face in elementary school semi-regularly. I was in dance and cheer at a young age and bright stage lights + extremely pale skin = a need for relatively heavy, dramatic makeup. Because I had sensory issues, my mom and I would practice with it every so often just to keep me used to it. I didn't start having my own actual makeup outside those kid makeup sets until I was in high school, I think, and I've never worn all that much anyway outside of when I'm putting on a costume or something like it, sort of like putting on a mask to make taking on the character even easier, but she'd do my makeup for me for dance recitals or even just because I asked on a weekend, a birthday, during school breaks, etc. all the way up through middle school. She's even helped me dye my hair almost every time I've done it since I started toward the end of middle school.I think makeup and stuff not being banned for me but just there if I wanted to use it let me decide that it wasn't really ever my thing most of the time. I like what I can create with it and that I can turn myself into a whole new person with it if I want to, but it's not really something I want to put effort into doing everyday and the feeling of mascara is gross, anyway, so why would I want to?Peer pressure could always be a factor for any kid at any age, but if they experiment with it and realize they don't like it before they're totally pulled into the idea that they absolutely need it by their friends and by ads and everything, I would think it would be harder to pressure them. Kids want to fit in, sure, but they're also stubborn as rocks.

Amazon $8...very threadbare so that's all it's worth. Amazon Basics Got one in a different shade of gray and it was very nice. The fit was quote off with this. I'm guessing that's more the norm. Cute. Going to try it on once more before I make a final decision. I'd like another one but don't see any colors in my size that pique my interest. When I see something I like, I tend to get two. Smelled like vinegar. Probably will just return.* Ordered The gray but this clearly leans to lavender.* Camee with a stain. A bit too long but it'll do.* Seems like a keeper but I need to confirm. Hope to order another but none of the other colors stand out especially. When I see something I like, I tend to get at least two. Amazon Basics for $7. It's a medium and is too small. Not even worth $7. *All the long tiered dresses are acceptable at best. The fit isn't great, but I accept that. What bothers me is 1. The thinness of the material as it won't hold up and 2. The cost - at $35 from China I think it's a rip off given the quality. $18 is more appropriate. I think I'm soured on Amazon clothing. This was my first go around and I guess I didn't understand.
