100 Days of Lipstick Challenge

A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.

Continuing my previous participation, because I very seriously need to do another lipstick declutter and this thread helped me a lot with that in 2018 through early 2020. I’ll periodically include a list of all lipsticks I’ve worn so far in this challenge, as I did before, so I won’t repeat any in this thread—and that’ll help me force myself to wear many I haven’t in a while. I left this challenge after lipstick number 272, so… 

Lipstick 273: Poppy King Lipstick shade Witch Princess, a pH color changing bullet. 

Photo doesn’t show off this lipstick enough… I should take a high res lip swatch photo soon.

@Sunnysmom Remind me: did you say this did or didn’t turn purply plum on your lips? On me it’s more of a rosy plum, not far off the natural coloring of my bottom lip. I’m okay with that though, since it makes my top lip match my bottom lip, plus I like the sparkly silver pinpoints. 2 coats for full coverage. Feels comfy on the lips, though not as buttery balmy comfy as many of Poppy’s Lipstick Queen shades. Witch Princess isn’t drying or gritty though. No bleeding/feathering. Impressive wear-time: I expected this to quickly wear off like Frog Prince does, but a good amount stuck around through coffee and a breakfast sandwich. I mean it’s obviously not transfer proof, but that photo up there is end-of-day and it’s worn down to maybe half opacity there. I reapplied only once all day, right after lunch. 

Definitely keeping this one, and not just because I’m sentimental about Poppy’s return to lipstick making (even though she’s going back to Australia soon and probably won’t be able to ship to the US for a long while).

Aw, thanks @Ispend2much6 ! Some of that luminosity is the magic of sunscreen. 😂 I think that’s the day I gave iNNBEAUTY PROJECT Mineral Sun Glow Broad Spectrum SPF 43 PA +++ with Peptides and Vitamin C Medium-D... a full day wear test.

The running list of lipsticks worn is the only way I’ll avoid repeats in this thread. It doesn’t include every lipstick I’ve decluttered. For instance, the day I ditched the ABH liquid matte shade I wore, I also tossed all other shades of that matte because I decided the formula was much too drying for me, and none of them were worth trying to salvage. I haven’t bought an ABH lipstick (in any formula) since. Anyway, that list also reminds me why I got rid of certain lipsticks, so I hopefully won’t repeat my mistakes. 😅

This is so beautiful on you!  I love this thread too, clearly! 🤣 I’m going through mine by vendor, wearing them and decluttering them as I go. 2 brands down, a million to go 😭lol. ( I posted some further in etc. Pat M and CT. Big whoop right. Lol.) Witch Princess turns a pinky plum on me too! I was so pleased it wasn’t purple like others! It lasts such a long time, I was shocked it was still on at the end of the day.  I love the stain! So comfy. I could live with out the sparkles but glad you love em.  I get more annoyed that they migrate elsewhere on my face it seems like. No clue why! Lol. I’m sad she’s leaving too as her new lips are such a nice formula. Guess I’m glad I can’t get Anger or Lust. But a bit sad! Good luck on your project too! We got this! 💪 Now if we can keep from replacing tooo many once we congratulate ourselves with attaboys ! Lol. Ugh.

Thanks @Sunnysmom ! Yeah, that’s what I did and will continue to do in this thread: wear and declutter as I go. In fact, I might retest some of the keepers in my running list because all my Bite crayons and MUFE liquid mattes might be goners now, and I see one Huda demi-matte I was on the fence about keeping. But yes, it’s a good approach to take! I wish I could do this by brand, but I don’t keep my full size bullets arranged that way; I arrange them by color instead, so my brain short circuits when I try to wear just one brand’s lipsticks for a week/month/whatever. (If I did that with Pat McGrath, it’d take around 80 days to complete unless I wore 2+ lipsticks a day. 😅) What I should do is start going through all my reds, since I never thinned them out last time (except for oxbloods)… I keep calling it The Reckoning of Reds. ANYWAY, congrats on your declutters so far! 👍 I know that had to be hard for you. I feel you! Just gotta hold ourselves to a “1 in, [3 or more] out” type of rule now. 

I was hoping Witch Princess would be more purple on me… you know how much I love purples. But I’m still very pleased with it. If the silver bits transfer around your face, think of it as randomly placed pin points of light. (Says the hypocrite who sometimes gets annoyed by Pat’s astral eyeshadow fallout. 🤦‍♀️) I bet WP looks beautiful on you!

I tried it by color too @WinglessOne and my weird brain felt more wired to the brand grouping. Ugh. First world problems for sure. 😔 I don’t even give them a full days wearing, multiples! Lol. At this point we know quite early! 😆 Great idea on reds. I need to do that too of course esp for some brighter ones that feel so garish these days plus my deeper purple-tones that I don’t love on me. So cool you can wear them. I’ve noticed WP even turns a bit from time to time. Suppose there is something to that PH adjustment thing eh?! Lol. I like your pin points of light thought, great turnaround!  I’m sure a bunch of my crayons have turned, ack. I need to get on those! DEF 1 in 3+ out. Definitely! We got this!!
