Damaged gift cards

My daughter has two gift cards. One for $30 and another for $25. Both of them are the paper type and the card number and pin came off on the sticker. On both,  parts of the gift card and/or pin are missing. I see this is a common issue. Will they work in a store? I’m very disappointed after reading the comments. Seems these cards sold at third party retailers are extremely defective. These were birthday gifts and I’m worried they cannot be used at alk
