Damaged gift card

What recourse do I have if my Sephora gift card was damaged by a Sephora employee and now I’m unable to use the funds. Just left the store and the employee instead of scratching off the card for the pin and card number pulled off the plastic thus pulling the numbers back too. You can’t tell me $100.00 are lost. I have the card in my hand and no way to get my funds.
