Re: Fall Cozy Challenge: Tell us your go-to masks and check in for a new prompt every week!

Love reading about everyone's go to masks and adding new ones to look into soon. Here are some masks that give my skin some much needed TLC from summer-to-fall and well through the fall months:

fave mask - main.jpg

To make my skin soft, smooth and free of clogged pores, I reach for Peach & Lily Super Reboot Resurfacing Mask - the pretty teal gel consistency feels light against the skin. The tingle varies in potency depending on how my skin is doing but does not linger. If I'm not in the mood for a mask that tingles, innisfree Pore Clearing Clay Mask 3.38 oz/ 100 mL is a go-to for gently but effectively decongesting my T-zone and chin area. I don't find either of these two masks to be drying for me, but the shift in weather that comes with fall can mean more sensitized and dry skin for me and when that happens, a mask like Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin™ Facial Barrier Mask Ceramidin™ Facial Mask fits the bill - soothing, moisturizing and repairing.

As the weather becomes more and more chilly, the warming effect of the Farmacy Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask does double duty - a cozy mask that's wonderful for unwinding after a long day, this one also gives me baby soft, smooth, clear, brightened skin. And a fave I see among many BIC'ers! Also performing double duty during the cooler months is the Origins Clear Improvement™ Charcoal Honey Mask to Purify and Nourish 2.5 oz/ 75 mL - this helps with acne and maskne while also keeping the drier parts of my face hydrated; love that this does not harden or make my face tight as it dries. 💛🍯

Sleep care is a huge part of my selfcare. It's definitely a work in progress to get in quality sleep (and lately, to get uninterrupted sleep). Steam eye masks are one of my best discoveries and something I have on my nightstand at all times. There are a lot of brands that make these masks but my favorites are the Kao Megrhythm Gentle Steam Eye Mask. This one is the yuzu scented one which is the strongest scent of the different varieties in this line. For an overnight mask that soothes and hydrates skin while I sleep (and reduces some redness too), LANEIGE Hypoallergenic Cica Sleeping Mask is a must have.

It was a challenge to choose one sheet mask so I went with one that can be found at Sephora. Here are a few others (not available at Sephora) that I'll be reaching for with some frequency in the fall:

Spoiler
The milky/cream serum in the Innisfree, Dermatory and Dr. G sheet masks are luxuriously nourishing and perfect for dry skin or cooler weather. The INNBeauty Project mask is like a Biore strip for the entire face - my skin looks and feel more smooth and clear. The milky/cream serum in the Innisfree, Dermatory and Dr. G sheet masks are luxuriously nourishing and perfect for dry skin or cooler weather. Happy masking and happy fall, BIC! 🍁

Re: Fall Cozy Challenge: Tell us your go-to masks and check in for a new prompt every week!

I absolutely love the Nature Republic Ginseng Gold Silk 2-Step Hydrogel Mask. It is my favorite sheet mask ever, so very high praise. I have combination-oily skin. In the fall/winter I use the sheet mask once a week after the Drunk Elephant Mini T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial™ AHA + BHA Mask 0.5 oz/ 15 mL  to get rid of all the flakiness I start getting. I always feel like the combination gives me glowing, plump skin for days.

Re: Fall Cozy Challenge: Tell us your go-to masks and check in for a new prompt every week!

I often make my own wash-off oatmeal mask, but an easier to use is the SEPHORA COLLECTION Instant Masks Oat Muesli , it's perfect for making my skin look super smooth and healthy; and my other two faves are from Fresh. fresh Vitamin C Glow Face Mask, I just adore for brightening up my complexion when its dull and when I want to sit with a mask on for a longer while. My all-time year 'round fave is fresh Rose Face Mask 3.3 oz/ 100 mL . This is the one I use before any big event, and whenever I have a gig. Feels & smells lovely and makes my skin look super fresh and rested.

Midflower Hyaluronic Acid mask is a great sheet mask.

I really enjoy the Tonymoly I’m real red wine sheet mask (image from internet cause I am currently out of it )

Re: Fall Cozy Challenge: Tell us your go-to masks and check in for a new prompt every week!

I am loving the Dr. Jart masks for fall ❤️

Re: Fall Cozy Challenge: Tell us your go-to masks and check in for a new prompt every week!

My first thought here would have to be Farmacy's honey potion mask. The light warming sensation is definitely comforting!

Re: Fall Cozy Challenge: Tell us your go-to masks and check in for a new prompt every week!

My skin type/behavior, for reference: I have mostly-dry combo skin that's fairly sensitive and very inflammation-prone. Pretty much all the skin on my body is quite reactive: I flush red while applying body lotion if I'm not very gentle about it, and sometimes my skin welts up in the process. My skin reacts very well to centella asiatica, needs all the hydrators it can get, and adores ceramides.

Favorite masks that Sephora sells:

Beyond Sephora, some of my fave masks:

FavoriteMasks-Fall2021.jpeg

I could list several LuLuLun masks, but let's narrow things down to the 3 in that photo: Yamanashi Peach, Japanese Maple, and Kyushu Watermelon. I should've also included the Kytoto Green Tea mask.

Re: Fall Cozy Challenge: Tell us your go-to masks and check in for a new prompt every week!

@WinglessOne -- My skin is overall reactive too, one of the reasons I can't wear much fragrance or heavily fragranced creams. I'm going to have to try that Inkey oatmeal stuff, sounds perfect for me!

Re: Fall Cozy Challenge: Tell us your go-to masks and check in for a new prompt every week!

@heavyhedon  If your skin reacts well to oats, another great product to have on hand is 100% colloidal oatmeal. I always keep a box of Aveeno Soothing Oatmeal Bath Treatment handy. It's a soothing tub soak, but I also use it as an emergency soothing mask for my face or body. Just mix a pouch (or part of a pouch) of the oatmeal with water, maybe add a couple drops of a good-for-you facial oil, slather it on the body part in need, and rinse it off 10-15 minutes later.

The Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm is one of my favorite skincare products of all time. Whenever my face is in damaged/bad reaction mode, that cleansing balm lets me wash my face with minimal pain and no welting. It's a permanent rebuy for me. If you try it, I hope it works well for you!

Re: Fall Cozy Challenge: Tell us your go-to masks and check in for a new prompt every week!

Since we're going to be headed towards cooler weather one of my favorites is REN Clean Skincare Evercalm™ Overnight Recovery Balm 1.02 oz/ 30 mL  I also love my fresh Rose Deep Hydration Sleeping Mask 1.18 oz/ 2 x 35 mL . For lips I really love my ILIA Lip Wrap Treatment Mask 0.34 oz/ 10 mL though I think my new fresh Sugar Recovery Lip Mask Advanced Therapy 0.35 oz/ 10 g is starting to become my favorite.

Re: Fall Cozy Challenge: Tell us your go-to masks and check in for a new prompt every week!

So I've gone homemade/old school and have taken to putting yogurt on my face as a mask.  If anything, it's nice and cooling., And iit's definitely helping me smooth and sooth my skin.  For mask masks, I also love my AHA, so it's either The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Exfoliating Peeling Solution 1 oz/ 30 mL , SEPHORA COLLECTION Face Mask Pineapple or OLEHENRIKSEN Cold Plunge Pore Mask 3 oz/ 90 mL 1-2x a week.

Re: Fall Cozy Challenge: Tell us your go-to masks and check in for a new prompt every week!

@danielledanielle  I'm going to have to try yogurt!

Re: Fall Cozy Challenge: Tell us your go-to masks and check in for a new prompt every week!

I try to multi-mask daily, so there's a lot. Usually at least a wash off, then sheet, then sleeping (and maybe a lip mask). As the weather turns my skin gets even dryer so moisture is key.

Wash-Offs:

Charcoal: Boscia Pore Pudding

Clay: Origins Original Skin™ Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay 2.5 oz/ 75 mL

Calming: First Aid Beauty FAB Pharma Arnica Relief & Rescue Mask 3.4 oz/ 96.4 g

Moisturizing: Farmacy Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask

Retexturizing: Herbivore Blue Tansy BHA and Enzyme Pore Refining Mask 2 oz/ 60 mL  and Tata Harper Resurfacing BHA Glow Mask

I'm still looking for a fave brightening and firming mask.

Sheet:

Mediheal A:Pe

Saturday Skin Intense Hydration Mask 1 mask

Farmacy Coconut Gel Sheet Mask - Hydrating 0.78 oz/ 23 mL

Sleeping:

  Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask

Glow Recipe Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask 2.7 oz/ 80 mL

Lip:

Missing the Bite lip mask in maple!

Re: Fall Cozy Challenge: Tell us your go-to masks and check in for a new prompt every week!

@TeamBIC I have a few that I enjoy. GLAMGLOW SUPERMUD Charcoal Instant Treatment Mask 1.7 oz/ 50 g GLAMGLOW THIRSTYMUD™ 24-Hour Hydrating Treatment Face Mask 3.5 oz/ 100 g. I also love May Lindstrom Honey Mud and her Problem Solver.  #Innisfree Green Tea Hydrating Sheet Mask

Re: Fall Cozy Challenge: Tell us your go-to masks and check in for a new prompt every week!

I don’t particularly like face masks or maybe I haven’t found the right one. For lips I do love to use the MILK MAKEUP Melatonin Overnight Lip Mask 0.28 oz/ 8 g !!!!! And does The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Exfoliating Peeling Solution 1 oz/ 30 mL count as a type of mask? Because I do love using it!!

Re: Fall Cozy Challenge: Tell us your go-to masks and check in for a new prompt every week!

It definitely counts @CrystalCat8901 , that's a go-to of mine!

Re: Fall Cozy Challenge: Tell us your go-to masks and check in for a new prompt every week!

I never got into the habit of using face masks, although the one time I used one I was happy with the result.  But my lips are in much better shape thanks to @TeamBIC  and their generous Ntl Lipstick Day gratis.  I love Tatcha The Kissu Lip Mask Original .  It so much more effective than anything else I've used. And, the name is cute!
