My face is on fire

image.jpg

Every time I use this moisturiser, my skin has a burning sensation and turns red. And this happens only when I use it with a serum or retinol, not when used alone. I never thought a barrier repair moisturiser can do this to my skin.

Re: My face is on fire

@Akshu26   I looked at the "how to use this product" link on the product's page here on Sephora.  You should be okay to use it with a retinol.

I have had a similar reaction applying moisturizers and sometimes barrier creams on top of my retinols.  Maybe it's a sign that I'm using the retinols too often, or the moisturizers somehow help the retinols to be absorbed more completely?  I'm wondering if a barrier cream, which is intended to protect skin from external irritants, might make the retinol more active because it has an occlusive effect on it, that it doesn't dry down as quickly because the cream prevents it from doing so, and it lasts longer.

Re: My face is on fire

Am I understanding this, when you use the lotion on it's own there is absolutely no reaction @Akshu26 ? Only when you mix it with other things?

Re: My face is on fire

Yes that’s right! n I read other conversations and I noticed that many people have the same reaction to this moisturiser.
