NEW!!! Got an idea for next year's challenge? Let me know! Was there a challenge you'd rather not repeat? Share below, so we can start building the 2021 schedule:
Oil masks are hit and miss for me, which is odd since my skin is both dehydrated and dry/drier in the fall/winter 🤷🏻♀️, but this one sounds good. 🤩 The combo of it being a Missha mask and a @Shosh85 approved masks definitely makes it a “must try” mask for me. 🥰
@itsfi I was surprised with this one! It wasn't at what I expected- I totally thought the serum would be more of an oil and the scent would be floral/perfumy, so I'm pretty happy how it turned out 😃👍
Despite being a little perfume-y, Missha masks seem overall great @Shosh85. I've enjoyed everyone I've tried! I like how you articulated that your skin 'felt comfortably hydrated.' It's frustrating to have tight-feeling skin after a full masking routine.
@eshoe Both the scent and serum surprised me with this one - totally thought it'd be perfumy, like you mentioned, and also thought the serum would be more oily. I was pleased with how it turned out 😃
@lmaster I always think of you when I do a rose mask 😉 I'm not a huge rose fan, but it smelled more like fresh roses and it was light, so I really didn't mind it so much.
Little update on the Hell Pore (I know @quspork liked other products by the same brand). I did do it properly this time!
I applied a thin layer with my hands (it was hard to get a thin layer using a spatula). I left it on for 25 mins (the directions said 15 but it took slightly longer to dry). Same as before, the fragrance is incredibly strong.
I peeled it from the edges inward. It came off in three big pieces. It hurt, I won’t lie. It peels dead skin and peach fuzz. The peeled pieces were FULL of blackheads and sebaceous filaments. Like way more than I would have thought. My face was a little red from the peeling but it subsided quickly. Aside from the peel, the mask didn’t burn, sting or cause any irritation related to the ingredients. I was happy with the results at that point.
what was most surprising is that I got even better results by following the second instruction: wipe away excess oil and sebum from your face after removing the mask. I have one of those extraction tools, and used the flat edge against the sides of my nose and cheek and WOAH even more stuff came out. It’s like the mask prepped the skin for additional extraction. For the first time in a while, my nose is completely blackhead free!!
@ShortErica The results in the end are better but for the amount of time/work/mess I would still pick the Biore. This peel off mask is something I think I’ll use when it gets really bad as an “at home extraction”
@cianni, “blackhead free”? I’m intrigued! Will have to give it a try. Just gotta give my nose a little pep talk beforehand about the pain that comes with such fabulous results. 😆
@cianni did you derma plane first? I had no idea, but I did my first peel without doing that first and holy moly. I thought I was going to peel off my skin, it was so awful!
@cianni Ooooh, this sounds amazing! I'm willing to experience a little pain if it brings great results! So happy this worked out so well! 😃🙌
With an earthy scent @lmaster this one sounds like one to try. @Shosh85 may be on to something - ginseng always seems to produce a scent like the one you are describing. Thank you for the comparison as well. I pick up a lot of Pacifica stuff for my daughter but I try it out too. I like most of it, some stuff causes her to break out though.
@lmaster I wonder if the earthy scent you're picking up is from the ginseng? 🤔 Happy to hear you loved this one just as equally! They both definitely sound wonderful! 😃 I'll be interested to hear how the Bliss ranks with them!
You may very well be right @Shosh85 didn't even think of that 😆
Both of these are overnight masks. I alternated using these every other night this week and I'm partial to the Origins - it's very nicely moisturizing for my skin. I'm still not seeing any firming effects from the Kiehl's overnight but my husband, however, is a fan - he likes the cooling feel and that his skin feels smooth and a bit tighter. He's not a huge fan of the scent but said at the same time that it's not horrible and he could live with it. I'm glad he's being so accommodating of the scent now that it seems he has commandeered this mask for his own. lol.
@Anonymous, completely agree with your thoughts on both masks! I used the Origins last week and my skin was very happy.
The origins one is really nice, isn't it @itsfi. I've been fairly pleased with the masks I've tried from Origins and Kiehl's.
