2025 Skincare Check-In Challenge: LAST Week! - Don't forget hand + foot care

Happy New Year, BIC! ✨ We’re stepping into 2025 with a crucial reminder: we must take special care of ourselves — this year and EVERY year. Some of us may already have set resolutions and/or stellar routines nailed down; regardless of where you are on your self-care journey, we could all use a few extra nudges and motivation to spend some extra time on ourselves! 🤝

Much like posts from previous years, we’ve come up with a list of weekly prompts to challenge you to strut your self-care skills. 💗 This time around we’ll be focused on all things skincare, because when our skin feels good, we feel GEWD. 🌟 We encourage you to participate and respond to the prompts that inspire you – and don’t be shy to share any other self-care tips and tricks along the way!

Week 1 (1/8 – 1/14): Curating the perfect rise and glow ☀ skincare routine to kick off your day 

Week 2 (1/15 – 1/21): Relaxing in your favorite face/eye mask(s)

Week 3 (1/22 – 1/28): Trying out tools to promote wellness (rollers, high tech tools, DIY massage . . .)

Week 4 (1/29 – 2/4): Adding some extra indulgence to your body care (baths, butters, oils, scrubs etc.) 🛀

Week 5 (2/5 – 2/11): Washing your makeup brushes, towels, pillowcases, etc. — whatever touches your GORG face 😘

Week 6 (2/12 – 2/18): Stimulating your scalp with treatments/serums (yes, this is skincare too!)

Week 7 (2/19 – 2/25): Sharing your favorite jumbo or refillable skincare goodies to get the best bang for your buck 🤑

Week 8 (2/26 – 3/4): Giving your hands and feet some extra love (masks, creams, exfoliants, etc.)

Not gonna lie...I do the same...🫣

Sometimes it's just easier to buy a new one...😂

But, when I wash brushes and Beautyblenders, I use Beautyblender blendercleanser® solid Charcoal  because I swear the Charcoal helps lift stubborn makeup stains.

And, the Beautyblender BESTIES BRONZE Limited-Edition Beauty Sponge and Cleanser Starter Set  comes with a little Scrub Mat which absolutely helps to gently lift makeup from brushes and Beautyblenders/sponges!

(I have the Besties Set in Original Pink and Charcoal - can't find the tag)

Then, I just lay everything on a towel to air dry...although I'm looking into a Makeup Brush Dry Rack/Tree on Amazon.

Have you seen those cute little Beauty Blender wash machines? One or both of the Welsh twins video reacted to a video of those. It's a funny watch. 🤣

But I just use my regular brush cleaner. I make my own tub out of a small Tupperware container and squeeze it like a loofa with soap repeatedly and then rinse rinse rinse. I dry it with a clean towel by squeezing and when it's as dry as possible I let it air dry.

@peculiarzmakeup I clean my sponges and brushes with SEPHORA COLLECTION Jumbo Deep-Cleaning Brush and Sponge Shampoo 8.45 oz / 250 ml I either lay the brushes on their side on a paper towel or hanging on a brush rack upside down. For the sponges I have a holder for it that it sits in. I use the Beautyblender blendercleanser® solid

I REALLY needed this reminder to clean my makeup brushes! 

I am on top of my pillow cases, wash clothes, and face wash, but i could so use some improvement in the makeup brushes area…

I deep clean my makeup brushes once a month using Beautyblender blendercleanser® solid .  Daily I wipe my brushes with a wipe from SEPHORA COLLECTION Cleansing & Exfoliating Wipes .

Towels and pillowcases are washed every three days.  (I am a bit of a clean freak)

My sleep mask is also wiped down with cleansing wipe daily.

I am a neat freak so when it comes to makeup brushes I wash them every week using SEPHORA COLLECTION Jumbo Deep-Cleaning Brush and Sponge Shampoo 8.45 oz / 250 ml 

I also wipe down all my makeup every time I use it.

Towels and pillow cases-every week, Blankets, hair brushes-every month

I clean every week, end of the month, every quarter, and end of year.  I have a list of all the items in the house that needs to get done.  I also organize the whole house and get rid of old items and either toss, sell, donate or trash them a couple of times a year that usually takes me a week to do since I do it by myself.  I find that this keeps my house in order as well as my life.

Body Care: The Winter Edit

Shower Gel / Oil:

• L'Occitane Cleansing And Softening Refillable Shower Oil With Almond Oil - a forever favorite that leaves my skin soft and moisturized
• Hanni Cocoon Cleanse Solid Body Serum Cleanser with Shea Butter 3.7 oz / 105 g(not pictured) - I occasionally use this with a mesh bag to add some manual exfoliation to my cleanse routine
• Byredo Body Wash - Gypsy Water (not pictured)
• Rhode Pineapple Refresh - designed as a face cleanser, I reach for it every so often for an all over wash when I need a gentle exfoliation.

Your lineup is absolutely beautiful I’ve been meaning to try the Rhode pineapple hopefully it comes to Sephora soon! Week 4 - my skin is very dry and I have spells where I itch due to autoimmune disease. I have tried almost every oil, lotion, body wash, and all the things to help. It gets worse in the winter and I usually end up with bruises from the itching. 

I bought the Hanni Splash Salve In Shower Treatment on a whim and it has hands down been AMAZING! Sometimes I can even get away with not applying any moisturizer after the shower. I am about to order my second jar and hope they never discontinue it.
