Happy New Year, BIC! ✨ We’re stepping into 2025 with a crucial reminder: we must take special care of ourselves — this year and EVERY year. Some of us may already have set resolutions and/or stellar routines nailed down; regardless of where you are on your self-care journey, we could all use a few extra nudges and motivation to spend some extra time on ourselves! 🤝
Much like posts from previous years, we’ve come up with a list of weekly prompts to challenge you to strut your self-care skills. 💗 This time around we’ll be focused on all things skincare, because when our skin feels good, we feel GEWD. 🌟 We encourage you to participate and respond to the prompts that inspire you – and don’t be shy to share any other self-care tips and tricks along the way!
Week 1 (1/8 – 1/14): Curating the perfect rise and glow ☀ skincare routine to kick off your day
Week 2 (1/15 – 1/21): Relaxing in your favorite face/eye mask(s)
Week 3 (1/22 – 1/28): Trying out tools to promote wellness (rollers, high tech tools, DIY massage . . .)
Week 4 (1/29 – 2/4): Adding some extra indulgence to your body care (baths, butters, oils, scrubs etc.) 🛀
Week 5 (2/5 – 2/11): Washing your makeup brushes, towels, pillowcases, etc. — whatever touches your GORG face 😘
Week 6 (2/12 – 2/18): Stimulating your scalp with treatments/serums (yes, this is skincare too!)
Week 7 (2/19 – 2/25): Sharing your favorite jumbo or refillable skincare goodies to get the best bang for your buck 🤑
Week 8 (2/26 – 3/4): Giving your hands and feet some extra love (masks, creams, exfoliants, etc.)
Hit the “Reply” button below and let us know how you are practicing self-skincare! 😍 Be sure to use the “#” to tag any products mentioned in your answers, if applicable.
Week 4: 4 (1/29 – 2/4): Adding some extra indulgence to your body care (baths, butters, oils, scrubs)
I haven't been great with body care this current winter, so this is a great reminder. I'm not always enthusiastic about applying body oils in the morning because I don't want my clothing sticking to my body. However, I just got this body oil from the Tatcha lucky bag event and will give it a try.
@PrettyPaint hope you like it. I think it is a great product.
Thank you @CorgiMommy. I used it this morning for the first time, and I really like it. The scent is nice and calming, and it seemed to absorb fairly quickly.
I love the scent of these products, IMO they smell like a luxury experience @PrettyPaint
Bubbles sound great...although I never do it!
Week 3 Trying out tools to promote wellness
(still catching up)
I have found a really decent back scrubbing tool. At least for me. The Sephora Back Scrubbing Brush is the best one I’ve owned. It’s made of silicone with little nubs on one side and brush bristles on the other. Because it’s silicone I can wash it and it dries beautifully. But I don’t see it carried now😟.
And the pmd silicone face brush and massager is great. I used it in my shower and I enjoy it. It takes one AA battery and it works so well. Again as it’s made of silicone I can wash it up so easily!
For my hair in the shower I have been using Briogeo Scalp Revival™ Stimulating Therapy Massager. As I have seborrhea, this helps loosen the scales so my prescription shampoo works even better.
Outside of the shower I enjoy the /kit•sch/ ice roller. Very comfortable and wide awake feeling when applying a fitted sheet mask or even a mask from a jar.
And Complex Culture has a T shaped vibrating bar that runs on one AA battery. It feels great as I move it around my face. If I use it consistently my face does look more toned.
Ora has a micro- needling device. I just roll it over my face in different directions. The apply my serum. This is a nighttime use for me. I do believe it allows my serum to penetrate the layers in my skin more than without using it. It doesn’t hurt and I don’t have to press. Just roll it along.
Dermaplaning razors are on the market from different manufacturers. I bought a package from Flawless. In addition to removing the peach fuzz, they help to remove dead skin cells. My skin looks brighter and feels softer afterwards.
My gua sha is metal so it cleans up nicely. It feels good going over my face. I get lost in thought so easily when I’m using it!
And lastly is the most wonderful gift from @TeamBIC ! It’s the NuFACE NuFACE® Mini+ Petite Facial Toning Device . I am just starting to get the hang of it. As with any device, I have read to be consistent with it. This is such an awesome tool and gift.
I have been trying to use it nightly to get the best results!
Love these product combos! What prescription shampoo do you use? Wondering if we use the same because I also have seborrhea Briogeo Scalp Revival™ Stimulating Therapy Massager
You certainly embraced tools to enhance your beauty routine @Cissy63
You have a beau-tool-ful collection @Cissy63 (sorry about the pun, I couldn't resist 🙃)
I am curious about the vibrating tool, it sounds really interesting but I'm thrilled to hear you've been using and enjoying the gratis gift. You got it, consistency is totally key to see results. 🩷👌
@CynthieLu Thank you 😊. Love your pun 😅. The Constant Care T shaped tool has a gentle vibration that really feels so good 😊
These are great tools I love how the briogeo really looks like it gets in so many spaces. The nuface device looks so lovely! @Cissy63
@peculiarzmakeup I really do like this little scalp massager. And I think it does help my seborrhea as well as my prescription shampoo.
I have the Briogeo scalp messager, @Cissy63 ! It feels so good on my scalp after going a week without doing anything to my hair/scalp. It's my fave part of washing my hair. 🫠
@Titian06 Thanks 😊. Oh I agree about how wonderful it feels on my scalp.
This time of year, my skin gets so dry. I usually switch to a thicker moisturizer. I've actually used coconut oil straight from the jar on occasion.
I have done that too, @AMK721
Ngl, I've done that too @AMK721 🤫💛
That’s a really neat idea! 💡 @AMK721 im glad that’s a go to sounds amazing ❤️
🩷💙 Week 4: Indulging In Body Care 🫧🧼
This is a fun question!
I love bubbles baths and bath bombs as indulgent relaxation. My favourites are just the drug store or Lush. Lush has this bath bomb called Galaxy and it changes colors and has fine glitter and a great scent. ✨👌
You might be thinking glitter in a bath bomb is messy. It totally is but despite the clean up I love it!!
Lush has the best and most imaginative bath bombs. However, I steer clear of the glitter ones as I don't want to try to clean the glitter out of the tub. @CynthieLu
@CynthieLu I love Lush bath bombs, though I haven't tried galaxy!
