Happy New Year, BIC! ✨ We’re stepping into 2025 with a crucial reminder: we must take special care of ourselves — this year and EVERY year. Some of us may already have set resolutions and/or stellar routines nailed down; regardless of where you are on your self-care journey, we could all use a few extra nudges and motivation to spend some extra time on ourselves! 🤝
Much like posts from previous years, we’ve come up with a list of weekly prompts to challenge you to strut your self-care skills. 💗 This time around we’ll be focused on all things skincare, because when our skin feels good, we feel GEWD. 🌟 We encourage you to participate and respond to the prompts that inspire you – and don’t be shy to share any other self-care tips and tricks along the way!
Week 1 (1/8 – 1/14): Curating the perfect rise and glow ☀ skincare routine to kick off your day
Week 2 (1/15 – 1/21): Relaxing in your favorite face/eye mask(s)
Week 3 (1/22 – 1/28): Trying out tools to promote wellness (rollers, high tech tools, DIY massage . . .)
Week 4 (1/29 – 2/4): Adding some extra indulgence to your body care (baths, butters, oils, scrubs etc.) 🛀
Week 5 (2/5 – 2/11): Washing your makeup brushes, towels, pillowcases, etc. — whatever touches your GORG face 😘
Week 6 (2/12 – 2/18): Stimulating your scalp with treatments/serums (yes, this is skincare too!)
Week 7 (2/19 – 2/25): Sharing your favorite jumbo or refillable skincare goodies to get the best bang for your buck 🤑
Week 8 (2/26 – 3/4): Giving your hands and feet some extra love (masks, creams, exfoliants, etc.)
Hit the “Reply” button below and let us know how you are practicing self-skincare! 😍 Be sure to use the “#” to tag any products mentioned in your answers, if applicable.
Week 2 (1/15 – 1/21): Relaxing in your favorite face/eye mask(s)
Well, I have a lot of favorite masks, but I tried to narrow it down to just a few 😉
Favorite sheet masks:
I would write my favorite sheet masks, but they're all discontinued, so I guess I won't even bother
ETA! I just realized Sephora does actually carry two of my favorite sheet masks! 👇
Dr. Jart+ Cicapair ™ Sensitive Skin Serum Face Mask for Redness 1 Mask / pack
Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin™ Skin Barrier Moisturizing Mask 0.77 oz / 22 g
Both of these Dr. Jart masks make my face feel so soothed, moisturized and soft & smooth.
I've seen them at TJ Maxx/Marshalls, so I assumed they were discontinued.... Looks like they were at least repackaged, possibly reformulated too? Will have to do some comparisons 😉
I have super dry skin, so usually when looking for a sheet mask, there are certain ingredients I usually watch out for: honey, snail mucin, cica, HA, peptides and ceramides.
Favorite face masks:
• Summer Friday's Overtime Mask (wait. Sephora doesn't carry this one anymore?!)
• Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask 5 oz/ 148 mL
These two are probably tied for first place. 🥇 The scent alone on both the SF and PTR masks are reason enough to buy/use them, but I love how soft and smooth they make my skin feel and how they also help brighten my face up a bit and even out my skin tone
• Farmacy Honey Potion Plus Ceramide Hydration Mask
This one not only makes my skin soft and smooth, but also gives a nice warming sensation that feels so cozy, especially great in these colder months. Love the added benefits of the ceramides as well
• Sulwhasoo Overnight Vitalizing Mask Ex
This one is great for keeping my skin moisturized through the night and waking up with a nice glow.
ETA! Almost forgot one of my newest favorites!👇
• Volition Chocolate Macadamia Hydrating Mask
The best part about this mask is that it smells like chocolate! It leaves my face soft, smooth and bright!
Favorite eye masks:
Again, all of my favorites are discontinued, but normally I go for the ones that have caffeine, HA, peptides or ceramides.
I have been loving this one, though (see spoiler)👇 I just took a picture of it because I don't know the name. It's one of those one-time use eye masks that warm up. It's so great when you're battling a headache/migraine.
@Shosh85 The PTR pumpkin mask is on my list to try! It sounds like you know your masks!
@Mellmars1185 The pumpkin one is definitely my favorite of all the PTR masks ...... the scent on it is just sooo good! 😋
Great favorites @Shosh85 ! Definitely a great self care routine!! 🥰
Thanks @jaaayp! Masking is probably my favorite part of my self care routine! 😃
The Farmacy Honey Potion Plus Ceramide Hydration Mask is worth it for the warm sensation you get while using it. It is my go to in the winter also @Shosh85
@CorgiMommy Yes! I saw that this is one of your favorites as well! It's so good! Glad to hear you love it too!
Wow! So many goodies these are great, I’m taking notes I’ve never tried the sulsawoo brand I’ve been seeing it on the threads it sounds fantastic! Cool eye masks too! @Shosh85
@peculiarzmakeup The Sulwhasoo brand is just an all around great brand! They're a little pricey, so most of the things I've tried have been deluxe samples. I have spotted a few things here and there at TJ Maxx/Marshall's though!
Samples are such a great idea! 💡 and thanks for the inside scoop on some places with deals I appreciate it ❤️ @Shosh85
I have dry skin too @Shosh85 I think I'm going to check some all of your favorites out. Oooh except your discontinued's. So sorry too hear they have gone the way of the dinosaur on you. That's so hard when it happens. 💙
@CynthieLu Seriously, it's so disappointing.... literally ALL my most favorite sheet masks are discontinued! 🥺😠
@Shosh85, ahhhh, those steam eye masks! I saw the thumbnail pic and thought "those are what I should have reached for when I was dealing with a headache earlier this week." Love them - they're the Kao Megrhythm Gentle Steam Eye Mask; that's the chamomile scented one.
Excellent masking choices, all around!!
@itsfi Yes! Thank you, I had a little brain fart 💨 😉 I knew if anyone would know the name it'd be you! (Also because I'm pretty sure you've given me a couple in the past as well 💕)
Week 2 (1/15 – 1/21): Relaxing in your favorite face/eye mask(s)
I love the Farmacy Honey Potion Plus Ceramide Hydration Mask . The warm sensation you get when first applied is heavenly but the best part is how soft and supple my skin is once I rinse it off. Great winter mask!
SEPHORA COLLECTION Eye Mask Patches for Dark Circles + De-Puffing Cucumber is like a good night sleep for your eyes. Times I don't sleep well or enough these are great for making me at least look wide awake.
Tatcha Violet-C Radiance Mask 1.7 oz/ 50 mL brightens my skin and leaves it super soft ! Plus the violet color is so pretty (i know that is not a reason to buy a product but it is an added bonus).
Any Sephora sheet mask, great pick me up at a great price. These are just fun for what ails your skin.
@CorgiMommy Your mask selections sound lovely. I also share your love for the Farmacy mask. The warmth of the honey mask is so comforting. I haven't tried the Sephora cucumber patches *adding to loves*. I have been reading lots of positive reviews of Tatcha on this thread. It is inspiring me to check my sample stash to see what I can find and test out.
Thank you @Mellmars1185 . The farmacy masks just feels so good when you need to pamper yourself.
Do try the Cucumber eye masks, they are fun.
Great favorites @CorgiMommy ! I agree on the sephora masks. I usually reach for them when I'm in a pinch as they're only 5 mins!
@CorgiMommy That Honey Potion is wonderful! It's like a warm hug to the face! Pretty sure this is one of @itsfi's favorite as well!
Honey Potion is turning up on a few others mask pick's as well. @CorgiMommy You are all tempting me to try this. Soft and supple skin you say?? 💛
@CynthieLu give it a try, you can always say well BIC made me try it.
I think there was a post with that title a few years ago.
