2025 Skincare Check-In Challenge: Week 4 - Indulging in body care

Happy New Year, BIC! ✨ We’re stepping into 2025 with a crucial reminder: we must take special care of ourselves — this year and EVERY year. Some of us may already have set resolutions and/or stellar routines nailed down; regardless of where you are on your self-care journey, we could all use a few extra nudges and motivation to spend some extra time on ourselves! 🤝

Much like posts from previous years, we’ve come up with a list of weekly prompts to challenge you to strut your self-care skills. 💗 This time around we’ll be focused on all things skincare, because when our skin feels good, we feel GEWD. 🌟 We encourage you to participate and respond to the prompts that inspire you – and don’t be shy to share any other self-care tips and tricks along the way!

Week 1 (1/8 – 1/14): Curating the perfect rise and glow ☀ skincare routine to kick off your day 

Week 2 (1/15 – 1/21): Relaxing in your favorite face/eye mask(s)

Week 3 (1/22 – 1/28): Trying out tools to promote wellness (rollers, high tech tools, DIY massage . . .)

Week 4 (1/29 – 2/4): Adding some extra indulgence to your body care (baths, butters, oils, scrubs etc.) 🛀

Week 5 (2/5 – 2/11): Washing your makeup brushes, towels, pillowcases, etc. — whatever touches your GORG face 😘

Week 6 (2/12 – 2/18): Stimulating your scalp with treatments/serums (yes, this is skincare too!)

Week 7 (2/19 – 2/25): Sharing your favorite jumbo or refillable skincare goodies to get the best bang for your buck 🤑

Week 8 (2/26 – 3/4): Giving your hands and feet some extra love (masks, creams, exfoliants, etc.)

Ooooh that's very good info @itsfi I have a firm use what I have rule in place. My stash needs to dwindle desperately. Buuuut as soon as that's done I get to buy things and have fun again lol. I'm excited for the future, this is something I will 100 percent want to try someday.

It's a good habit though @CynthieLu ! I think I technically set-up this habit last year with the thread that tracks product usage (@itsfi I can't think of the thread name, please help). I can proudly say that I've pretty much ran through waaaay more than I expected to. I was amazed at myself about how consistent I became and how using the same product really showcased the products as to if it was good or not! I'm doing the same this year.. I just ran out of my  Biossance Squalane + Hyaluronic Acid Copper Peptide Rapid Plumping & Hydrating Serum 1.69 oz / 50 mL and didn't have another hydrating serum in stock so I went and got the a hyaluronic serum replace it. I recommend trying that thread out? 😊 I should really be joining you there as well..

You're thinking of the the pan it! challenge @jaaayp - there's a new thread up for this year - Pan It! - 2025 Challenge  - you and @CynthieLu should join. We all have different numbers and variety of products in the challenge, and various goals too. Some of those items make it through the year and others get swapped out for something else if it's not working. Makeup, skincare, hair care, bath and body products - up to you. 100% agree that using something consistently or even quasi-consistently really lets you know whether or not it's a good product for you.

That's a really good idea @jaaayp @itsfi I am serious about using up all the skin care foils,mini's and gwp etc.. I've acquired. It's a pretty fair sized stash. I think officially stepping into the Pan it! Thread mighty be good motivation and maybe help me stick with it.

Perfect list @jaaayp ! I want to try the Dieux as I bought the eye pads. 

Depending on what you want out an eye cream I have really liked these from the samples I was given recently!

#Kiehl’s Since 1851 Hydrating Eye Treatment Cream ( hmm won’t tag) - creamy too and recommended by a lot of folks to me. 

Caudalie Vinoperfect Dark Circle Brightening Eye Cream with Niacinamide 0.5 oz / 15 mL is smooth and lightly creamy. 

Also the Sarah Creal Firm Offer Ultimate 4-in-1 Peptide Eye Cream and Primer for Fine Lines 0.5 oz / 15 mL is kind of similar in feel to the Goop we discussed with a little bit more oomph I’d say. Covers several bases with the primer and skincare elements being stronger. Creamy but also balmy gel like if makes sense?! 🥴 I have been using it a lot besides the Goop. 😊

Great suggestions @Sunnysmom ! I've always eyed the caudalie but never picked it up. I think im always a little skeptical of how hygienic the roller metal is... 😶 but I guess the idea is that you're applying it on clean so.. its ok? I'll definitely look into the kiehls one because I've recently fallen back into kiehls trap lately after years of hiatus!

I hear you on the applicators @jaaayp I don’t know how I feel either. That’s my guess too? If not I’m not wiping them off enough…🥴. I go back and forth on Kiehls but I do like this one especially in times when my allergies are acting up.

@jaaayp   I really like CLINIQUE All About Eyes Rich Eye Cream with Hyaluronic Acid .  Or the vitamin C one.  I forget which one I'm using as I've done both.  It absorbs well, flattens lines a bit, and depuffs a bit.

Exuviance has a much thicker, rich one that I like for night over a retinol gel - Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Ferulic + Retinol Eye Cream 0.5 oz/ 15 mL - I use the gel couldn't tag that one.

Ah! That's a good one @Ispend2much6 the clinique was really good. I think i used it a little while ago but forgot about it since I'm always looking for "better" 😂 thanks for the reminder, definitely adding it to my loves so I don't forget!

Quick cleanse with Sulwhasoo Gentle Cleansing Foam 1.69 oz / 50 ml and cold water splash.

Iris&Romeo Skin Cocoon Barrier Repair Glow Serum with Peptides & Niacinamide 1 oz / 30 mL - love this combo creamy serum/moisturizer/oil - not too heavy or sticky. Just love it and you can see a glow. Perfect for wintery skin but not too heavy for other seasons.

Victoria Beckham by A Bader Cell Rejuvinating Primer Moisturizer Original - lightweight but with added radiance

UBeauty The Sculpt Neck + Décolleté Concentrate - very nice new product with moisturizing ,firming and blurring effect too- which not all neck creams seem to do from past experience. 

goop GOOPGLOW Vita-C Brightening Eye Cream 0.5 oz / 15 mL - love the gel nature of this cream yet it’s moisturizing too. Layers beautifully with a nice glow before concealer and acts like a corrector on days when my dark circles aren’t too hideous. 

Supergoop! Glowscreen SPF 40 Sunscreen with Hyaluronic Acid + Niacinamide 1.7 oz Sunrise / 50 mL -my HG sunscreen and acts as an instant glowy tinted moisturizer . Love the scent and feel of it. 

( not really skincare but…Fast light swipe of DIOR Forever Glow Maximizer Longwear Liquid Highlighter 017 Nude on cheeks for added glow oomph and melts into skincare beautifully . )
