Happy New Year, BIC! ✨ We’re stepping into 2025 with a crucial reminder: we must take special care of ourselves — this year and EVERY year. Some of us may already have set resolutions and/or stellar routines nailed down; regardless of where you are on your self-care journey, we could all use a few extra nudges and motivation to spend some extra time on ourselves! 🤝
Much like posts from previous years, we’ve come up with a list of weekly prompts to challenge you to strut your self-care skills. 💗 This time around we’ll be focused on all things skincare, because when our skin feels good, we feel GEWD. 🌟 We encourage you to participate and respond to the prompts that inspire you – and don’t be shy to share any other self-care tips and tricks along the way!
Week 1 (1/8 – 1/14): Curating the perfect rise and glow ☀ skincare routine to kick off your day
Week 2 (1/15 – 1/21): Relaxing in your favorite face/eye mask(s)
Week 3 (1/22 – 1/28): Trying out tools to promote wellness (rollers, high tech tools, DIY massage . . .)
Week 4 (1/29 – 2/4): Adding some extra indulgence to your body care (baths, butters, oils, scrubs etc.) 🛀
Week 5 (2/5 – 2/11): Washing your makeup brushes, towels, pillowcases, etc. — whatever touches your GORG face 😘
Week 6 (2/12 – 2/18): Stimulating your scalp with treatments/serums (yes, this is skincare too!)
Week 7 (2/19 – 2/25): Sharing your favorite jumbo or refillable skincare goodies to get the best bang for your buck 🤑
Week 8 (2/26 – 3/4): Giving your hands and feet some extra love (masks, creams, exfoliants, etc.)

Thank you so much! I know you were so right about only needing a pinch of Danessas balm I saw someone mix it with colorfix that is my next venture ahhh yes it really is do you not have it near you? It’s great! @CynthieLu
Ooh they mixed it with Colorfix? I haven't heard of this yet. It's it to make a hydrating lippie or blusher out of CF I wonder? 🤔 @peculiarzmakeup
Yup. Tatcha's cleansing balm isn't sold here but it's a product I really hope we see make it hear one day. 🤞
Yes I saw you can take a little of it and put it on a pallete and mix with color fix I’ve yet to try it I will make sure to let you know when I do 😍 awww well I’m sure there’s something just as wonderful there! It would be cool to see what the different offerings are. ❤️ @CynthieLu
This explains your beautiful glow of a face @peculiarzmakeup ! 🤩 Great products. Tatcha makes so many lovelies!
Aw you made me smile! Thank you so much! I appreciate that! I love Tatcha I tried every product I think there’s two I haven’t that might be fun to explore on this skincare challenge 🤩 @Sunnysmom
Week 1 (1/8 – 1/14): Curating the perfect rise and glow ☀ skincare routine to kick off your day
My basic morning skincare routine:
Then I Met You Living Cleansing Balm Makeup Remover 0.67 oz / 20 ml
CosRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Essence
Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin™ Skin Barrier Moisturizing Cream
Saint Jane Beauty Luxury Sun Ritual Pore Smoothing Face Sunscreen SPF 30 1.7 oz / 50 mL - has a very light tint, blurs and gives my complexion a soft brightness.
The extras:
Augustinus Bader The Essence 3.7 oz/ 100 mL - I'm slowly getting back into exfoliating toners and this one is lightweight, absorbs quickly and helps to illuminate my complexion.
EADEM Milk Marvel Dark Spot Serum with Niacinamide and Vitamin C 1 oz/ 30 mL brightens with the niacinamide and vitamin C. This has been good for reducing the appearance of my dark and sun spots which in and of itself adds brightness to my face.
Rhode Glazing Fluid gives me bouncy, dewy skin.
Tatcha The Kissu Lip Scrub 0.4 oz / 12g sloughs off dead skin which gives my lips more life and that just makes my entire face look brighter.
Sulwhasoo Glowing Lip Balm hydrates and smooths.
@itsfi Lovely lineup. How cute is the packaging on the Suwhasoo lip balm?!
@Mellmars1185, thank you! My skincare routine is usually a mix of products from Asian (mostly Korean, some Japanese), European and US brands - clinical and "clean". In the past couple of years, my cleansers and moisturizers have seen the most change up - not because what I'm using is bad but there have been a lot of great products in those categories that have caught my eye recently.
The Sulwhsoo lip balm comes in two versions - clear one and a pH adjusting color. I picked it up through the the brand's direct site, maybe late summer / early fall? I thought I saw a set with this balm come across on Sephora at ome point last year, but I must have been mistaken. It's convenient to carry and the shape makes it stand out when I'm going through my purse looking for things. 👍
Oh yes, @itsfi I bet you can find that product in a bag with your eyes closed!
Excellent line up, @itsfi! The CosRx and the Ceramidin are two of my favorites! I've also really loved the Augustinus Bader products I've had a chance to try, but unfortunately I'm just a little too poor to buy the full sizes 😅
I will say this … keep an eye out for AB the next time you are in TJM or Marshall’s @Shosh85. I rarely get to either of those stores anymore - the ones in my city have closed up 😔 and the nearest ones are maybe an hour’s drive away. But for some reason I was near a store and felt I needed to at least go in and take a look, lol. I spied a couple of AB product there - I just stared at them for a while, in disbelief. 🫢
@itsfi Now that you mention it, I did run into to one of their products at Ross, of all places. I actually can't remember what it was now (maybe a body cream?) I just remember knowing it was something I didn't need, but still held it in my hand and stared at it for an unhealthy amount of time. Haha! 🤣 Good point though, I'll have to keep my eyes out for the brand at TJ Maxx/Marshalls. 😉
@Shosh85, your Ross has a way of getting its hands on some unique goodies - if I’m remembering right, you found a good but very $$$$ sheet mask at your Ross years ago, at a heavily discounted price. 🙌🏼
@itsfi Yes! You have an excellent memory! That was actually a different Ross though 😉
That was the Venofy Royal Honey Sheet Mask... I had totally forgotten about that!
Oh my goodness @Shosh85, all the Ross stores you visit carry some luxe beaut products. I coudn't remember the brand but knew it was a sheet mask. I just went to the brand's website - it looks like we missed out on a $3,500.00 (yes, that's right, I didn't accidently add an extra zero, or two 😲😅) sheet mask, Shosh, as it's out of stock. Maybe I'll have found enough change in the couch to pick one up on the next restock? 🤣
@itsfi Haha! 😂 Yeah, I think I saw an 8 pack of neck/chest masks for $1,500 😮🫣
@Shosh85, ohhhh? That's a steal. 😆😆😆 I mean, I'll still need to dig through the couch (and other people's couches), but compared to the other one, a bargain! Hahahaha! Don't get me wrong, I have forked over $$$$ (okay, maybe more like $$, lol) for a sheet mask now and again, for research, of course, but I'm just left a bit speechless by these. That sheet mask you got your hands on years ago, even at regular price, seems almost affordable compared with these two. 😜 Well, if you see them at your Ross (or TJ Maxx or Marshall's) and the price tag isn't completely ridiculous, report back, okay?!
@itsfi Hahaha! 😂 🤣 Right?! Seriously though, who buys this stuff?!
We are definitely not their target consumers @Shosh85! 😂🤣😂
This explains why your skin always looks awesome in pictures @itsfi
@CorgiMommy, that's nice of you to say, thank you. I don't take many photos of my face - it's the angles and makeup that helps.
