Happy New Year, BIC! ✨ We’re stepping into 2025 with a crucial reminder: we must take special care of ourselves — this year and EVERY year. Some of us may already have set resolutions and/or stellar routines nailed down; regardless of where you are on your self-care journey, we could all use a few extra nudges and motivation to spend some extra time on ourselves! 🤝
Much like posts from previous years, we’ve come up with a list of weekly prompts to challenge you to strut your self-care skills. 💗 This time around we’ll be focused on all things skincare, because when our skin feels good, we feel GEWD. 🌟 We encourage you to participate and respond to the prompts that inspire you – and don’t be shy to share any other self-care tips and tricks along the way!
Week 1 (1/8 – 1/14): Curating the perfect rise and glow ☀ skincare routine to kick off your day
Week 2 (1/15 – 1/21): Relaxing in your favorite face/eye mask(s)
Week 3 (1/22 – 1/28): Trying out tools to promote wellness (rollers, high tech tools, DIY massage . . .)
Week 4 (1/29 – 2/4): Adding some extra indulgence to your body care (baths, butters, oils, scrubs etc.) 🛀
Week 5 (2/5 – 2/11): Washing your makeup brushes, towels, pillowcases, etc. — whatever touches your GORG face 😘
Week 6 (2/12 – 2/18): Stimulating your scalp with treatments/serums (yes, this is skincare too!)
Week 7 (2/19 – 2/25): Sharing your favorite jumbo or refillable skincare goodies to get the best bang for your buck 🤑
Week 8 (2/26 – 3/4): Giving your hands and feet some extra love (masks, creams, exfoliants, etc.)
Hit the “Reply” button below and let us know how you are practicing self-skincare! 😍 Be sure to use the “#” to tag any products mentioned in your answers, if applicable.
Week 5 (2/5 – 2/11): Washing your makeup brushes, towels, pillowcases, etc. — whatever touches your GORG face
I am a neat freak so when it comes to makeup brushes I wash them every week using SEPHORA COLLECTION Jumbo Deep-Cleaning Brush and Sponge Shampoo 8.45 oz / 250 ml
I also wipe down all my makeup every time I use it.
Towels and pillow cases-every week, Blankets, hair brushes-every month
I clean every week, end of the month, every quarter, and end of year. I have a list of all the items in the house that needs to get done. I also organize the whole house and get rid of old items and either toss, sell, donate or trash them a couple of times a year that usually takes me a week to do since I do it by myself. I find that this keeps my house in order as well as my life.
Week 4 (1/29 – 2/4): Adding some extra indulgence to your body care (baths, butters, oils, scrubs etc.) 🛀
Body Care: The Winter Edit
Shower Gel / Oil:
Exfoliation (post-shower) - either as a spot treatment for dark spots and elbows or all over, once a week
Moisturizer/Oil:
Extra Indulgence: Body Care as Self-Care
Week 4 - my skin is very dry and I have spells where I itch due to autoimmune disease. I have tried almost every oil, lotion, body wash, and all the things to help. It gets worse in the winter and I usually end up with bruises from the itching.
I bought the Hanni Splash Salve In Shower Treatment on a whim and it has hands down been AMAZING! Sometimes I can even get away with not applying any moisturizer after the shower. I am about to order my second jar and hope they never discontinue it.
Hanni Splash Salve In-Shower Body Moisture Treatment 8.8 oz / 250 mL
100% agree @brehea24! The Hanni in-shower salve is wonderful and make keeping skin moisturized convenient and easy! 💗
Thar is always fun when you truly love a blind purchase. @brehea24
Week 4- Body care
Necessaire is my favorite body care brand. The lotion and serum are my top favorites. The J’adore body oil and Miss Dior scrub smells so good! The FAB scrub is my favorite scrub. I’m not a fan of the scent but it works so well I can overlook it. For bath it’s hard to beat Dr Teals bath salts.
Great favorites @faeriegirl .
Week 3- Favorite Tools
NuFACE NuFACE® Mini+ Petite Facial Toning Device
DERMAFLASH DERMAPORE+™ Ultrasonic Pore Extractor + Skincare Infuser Blush
Week 2 favorite masks.
The SKII is my all time favorite face mask and I really enjoyed the SC eye mask!
Week 4 (1/29 – 2/4): Adding some extra indulgence to your body care (baths, butters, oils, scrubs etc.)
I am enjoying Hanni Good Aura Weightless Body Oil 3.14 oz / 93 ml and Hanni Water Balm Instant Hydration Body Moisturizer Mist 6.76 oz / 200 mL along with my good old standbys -Dr Teal’s epsom salts and bath bombs. The Hanni oil is described as “the anti-oil” and it really is delicious both in scent and feel. Appreciate the glass bottle too. My other favorites are the Molton Brown bath and shower gels ( Eucalyptus and florals are wonderful) and Nécessaire The Body Wash Eucalyptus - Nourishing Treatment Cleanse With Lipid-Rich Oils + Niacinamid... . Can’t beat #L’Occitane Shea Butter anything - Body and hand lotion.
I just posted about how amazing the Hanni Splash Salve In-Shower Body Moisture Treatment 8.8 oz / 250 mL is. I will have to try some more of their products. If you haven’t tried the salve, highly recommend!
The Hanni oil sounds so good @Sunnysmom!
You gotta try it @faeriegirl ! Love the efficiency of it!
Love this! I’ve never heard of Hanni but it must be amazing if you use it! I’ll take your reccomendations any day haha Fabulous picks ❤️ @Sunnysmom
@peculiarzmakeup @Cissy63 It’s so soft and lovely! Pretty sure @itsfi put it on my radar and she always gives wonderful recs! 🥰
@Sunnysmom These sound amazing 😊. A scent that you love applying is so special. I also really enjoy the L’Occitane hand cream with shea butter. 🥰
Week 4 (1/29 – 2/4): Adding some extra indulgence to your body care (baths, butters, oils, scrubs etc.) 🛀
I am currently using a Korres body wash. It is kind and gentle. Leaves my skin feeling soft. I have been using a poof for body wash for years. And I change one every month.
My skin is so dry and Palmer’s Coco butter skin therapy oil . I spray it on after I shower then apply a body butter. Right now it’s B&BW’s Into the Night . There are little sparkles in it!
And I am also using their body cream in Vanilla.
If it’s not a B&BW product then it’s another brand. And I always have tubes of hand cream around the house!
These look amazing! These challenges are such a great way to highlight what really works! Sounds like they smell fantastic too! @Cissy63
@Cissy63 this tine year it is always good to bring out the hard working favorites
You know how to do some really good body care.@Cissy63 🦄 I use a poof too, I changed it out pretty regularly as well, such a good habit. 👌
