Welcome to the 2024 Masking Challenge!
This year is going to be a little different - simplified. Easy. Every month will have a new theme, and that's it. Feel free to join in whenever and wherever. Most importantly - have fun!
Spring Fling - Baskets and bouquets, showers of much-anticipated rain...this month's focus is herbal and floral sensory delights ๐ฎ
January | Fresh Starts - Time for a re-set, or morning masking? However you see it, this month is all about new beginnings. |
February | Winter Love - Whether it's a mask you adore, or something extra-special to care for dry winter skin, this month is for some soothing TLC. |
March | March Madness - Competition is in the air! Find a $ dupe of a $$$ mask that is share-worthy? Or find a dupe that works even better than the original? Details, please! |
April | Spring Fling - Baskets and bouquets, showers of much-anticipated rain...this month's focus is herbal and floral sensory delights. |
May | Dew Drops - May Day lore says to wash your face in the dew you collect in the morning of the first day of May for radiant skin. This month is for absorbing all of that good-for-you H2O. |
June | Summer Sunshine - Ice cream, sunglasses, SPF, check! Once the sun is down (or before it's up), extra care is most necessary. How do you give your skin cooling repair? |

Thank you @Aaliaa for starting this thread, and giving us a place to share our love for masks๐
Thatโs so cool @ather! I love having fresh cut flowers in the house - I hadnโt realized how large dahlias can get ๐. Succulents and cactus sound great though I am sure I would prick myself a lot with the cactus. ๐ต Please keep me posted on how it goes! I tried my hand with an aloe plant and that went well for a couple of years but then โฆ RIP aloe plant. I was told they were strong and could survive anything. Oops. ๐ ๐
@itsfi What an amazing photo! โค๏ธ All of these look super fun to try.
@QueenMarceline, thank you, Iโve tried a few sheet masks from Dr. Belmeur and have really enjoyed them. Axis-Y is a new brand to me, a newer brand to the Kbeauty space actually. I thought the mask pack set was a good way to try out the brand. ๐๐ผ
@itsfi I think the gel mask catches my attention the most, I've been wanting to try one of those out for a while now,
@QueenMarceline, the Axis-Y gel mask is a nice one. It feels cool and refreshing on the skin. ๐๐ผ My favorite gel mask is probably the LANEIGE Cica Sleeping Mask. itโs technically an overnight mask but it does have a gel consistency and I like the results I get from it overnight.
@itsfi I've been eyeing that Laneige actually as my gel try out ๐ The only gel masks I've tried were the single-ish use overnight Sephora brand ones but they felt quite nice on the skin and I think I have a couple of them left.
@QueenMarceline, I occasionally see a mini / deluxe sample size of it available in the Rewards Bazaar online or in stores (for 100 points). Laneige may also put out sets during the holiday that includes this cica mask.I've also seen full sizes at TJ Maxx / Marshalls from time to time.
@itsfi This picture oh my!!!!
Oh my goodness, thank you @Samtian! ๐ Iโm not great with multi masks shots - I havenโt found a look/feel I like or am comfortable with - so that means a lot. ๐
@itsfi @How does the axis y compare to the PTR cucumber mask? It sounds very similar !
@Kim888, to me, compared with the PTR cucumber mask, the Axis-Y mask is the better of the two. The cooling and calming of the Axis-Y mask is nice and while itโs not a standout when it comes to hydration, I do feel some hydration. Whereas with the PTR cucumber, itโs a โmehโ mask for me - it doesnโt irritate my skin but I donโt feel like it really does anything for it either. Iโve tried it on several occasions over the years as I know it is a hit with many. It seems like thatโs the same for me and all the gel masks from the brand ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ - the standouts for me from PTR are the pumpkin mask and the Irish moor mud mask.
@itsfi @Thank you for the review! I also agree the PTR cucumber mask is very meh and the pumpkin is really the only one I like from the line so itโs good to hear this one is better! Iโll check it out !
Weekโs Theme: Morning Masking
Letters of the Month: E - I
Eminence Snow Mushroom & Reishi Face Mask
My Thoughts:
@QueenMarceline This mask sounds wonderful! I've tried a few things from this brand and have enjoyed them all - will definitely have to add this one to my list! ๐
@Shosh85 I've been liking them quite a bit so far, great and unique products. Anything you recommend for me to try out next? ๐
This mask is very intriguing, I have heard very good things about snow mushrooms as an ingredient with really nice benefits for our faces ๐ btw your photos are stunning!
@CynthieLu Hahah, full disclose it was an image from the internet because I was too lazy to take my own photo ๐คฃ but I still wholeheartedly recommend this mask
Lmao @QueenMarceline well you picked a good one ๐๐
@QueenMarceline, have you tried mixing or layering Eminence masks? When I get a facial at a spa that carries Eminence products, the aesthetician always mixes a couple of masks from the brand. I think Iโve tried this mask but it was mixed with another one.
@itsfi I actually have not tried that. I think this mask is so versatile and neutral that it could likely be mixed with each and every single mask. I definitely have to try that! ๐
@QueenMarceline Sounds amazing!!
