Welcome to the Monthly Manicure Challenge! Thereโs a lot of great manicure ideas and inspiration here on BIC. I find challenges are a great way to channel that inspiration, push me out of my comfort zone, and try new styles or colours I wouldnโt normally go for. Itโs a great way to grow in skill and artistry. I hope youโll join me on this journey.
All are welcome, whether youโre a pro or a novice like me, or if you have a favourite manicurist that is the only one you trust with your hands. Youโre welcome to post as often or as little as you like, post late, or skip challenges completely. And feel free to post them on Show Me Your Nails 2.0 too!
April 2024 - April Showers
Iโm sure we all know how the idiom goes: โApril showers bring May flowers.โ So letโs see your water themed manicures this month!
And it doesnโt have to be typical blues for water either. Feel free to try techniques that involve water in some way! Hydrodipping, water marbling, droplet effects, etcโฆ Feel free to try any of these and show us the results!

Iโve been a part of BIC for a while now. Iโve seen makeup, skincare, and photography challenges, which have been great for giving me inspiration, but nothing for maniโs. I love Makeup Challenge of the Week 2021/2022/2023 because itโs given me lots of inspiration, pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me grow in my skills and artistry. Iโd probably be stuck doing the same looks if it werenโt for that. I know we have Show Me Your Nails 2.0 which has been a great source of inspiration. I donโt want to take away from it but rather give myself and others a way to narrow down all the great ideas from it and get outside of my comfort zone (which has been bright colours and sparkly toppers lately)
Would there be any interest in starting a challenge for maniโs? We could have a different theme every month or even twice a month so that people can wear their maniโs out without worrying about missing one. People could always revisit themes if they miss them but still want to participate. Iโm happy to organize it and if people have ideas for themes, Iโm happy to work them in. What do you all think? Let me know if we should go one or twice a month and any themes you might want to see.
Tagging some people but feel free to tag others who I missed or who you think might be interested.

Wow @RGbrown! The manicure already looked amazing as it was. These stamps are next level! I especially like the yellow daffodils (at least thatโs what I think they areโฆ)
Thanks so much! Stamping is a great way to up the wow factor of a mani, especially for the artistically challenged folks like myself lol, but I have a hard time making myself pull it out lately, so it was nice to use the challenge as a reason to do so ๐
And yep, that's a daffodil! I bought the plate specifically for the zinnia, but have to say it's probably my least fave of everything here. I maybe should have skipped the dark pink and gone a little lighter with that one, it turned out a bit dark overall since that design has so much black to it.
Well, I am cheating completely because this is the Monthly MANICURE Challenge and here I come with a PEDICURE one ๐ . But let me tell you, it is more challenging for me to show my ugly feet than any challenge itself. But here it goes!
As a base I used Mooncat Space Cowboy, a gorgeous cobalt blue with pink flakes. I applied 4 coats because I always over do it, but two would have been enough for decent coverage (three for full full) Then I added the cute flowers inspired by @JoSometimes , using Orly White Tips and Sassy Sauce in Vibin. My left foot was to experiment and I didnโt like the result so I improved it on version 2.0 right foot. ๐
Your pedicure is making me think of Hawaii @Saradestin! The pink & white just pop so beautifully off that gorgeous blue! ๐ฉท๐ค๐ Such a fun look. Not cheating at all - a pedicure is manicure (for the feet)! ๐ฃ
Ooh a summer pedi! โ๏ธ It's perfect for the beach. โฑ๏ธ ๐@Saradestin I don't know how you could manage such pretty flowers on your toes! Awesome job on them ๐
Thank you so much @CynthieLu ! I tried my best and it came out quite decent. The good thing is that, as I always see my feet from the distance, I canโt see the defects ๐
Amazing @Saradestin! Your flowers turned out even better than mine! I love the two-tone petals and the really deep blue you used as a base. The flowers give off cherry blossom vibes! ๐๐ค๐ฉท
Ahhhhhh, this is fantastic! Love love love the bold blue with the pink and white flowers! I am envious of folks that can do art on their toes, and you did a fabulous job; such a perfect beach pedi! ๐๏ธ
Aww, thank you so much @RGbrown !! I was already in love with the blue polish (which is called Cosmic Cowboy, not Space ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ) but adding the flowers gave it such a fun upgrade!
