Carmine, Cochineal, and Chitin free eyeshadows

Hi All!

I LOVE pigments but I have a severe shellfish and crustacean allergy that presents when I use reds, oranges and purples around my eyes.
Does anyone know of brands that omit carmine, chitin and cochineal?

OR! Anything that helps to neutralize these ingredients?

Re: Carmine, Cochineal, and Chitin free eyeshadows

@Lipstickchichi1 - I'm vegan so I read all ingredients.  Don't rely on the "vegan" filter; use it as a guide.  For example, Natasia Denona eye palettes show up as vegan, yet some eyeshadows in those palettes contain carmine.

Viseart is mostly vegan, but read the ingredients.  It will say which colors contain carmine.  You can buy individual colors on their website.

Dior and Chanel also spell it out.

Artist Couture appears to be vegan.

Tom Ford is not.

Urban Decay say "+/-" which means they can't even be bothered to let the customer know the specific shades.

@Lipstickchichi1 look for vegan brands/eyeshadows. Lethal Cosmetics, Melt Cosmetics, Adept Cosmetics are some that I've used and liked. Also, you can filter your results on Sephora by ingredients, so you can select only vegan options.

Thank you! I used melt when they first started out and their purple caused irritation. I loved the richness of the pigment.
I’ll revisit to check out their eyeshadows! 💕
