Short thick hair needing more volume

No clue how to do it. I've got a short pixie cut with texture and it's really thick hair. As in when it was down my back ten strands would clog my drain. But it's short and I was wondering how to pump it up and be that sassy rebel I am. I don't use conditioner (due to the shortness. All my sheen comes from once a week deep conditioning) and I use little shampoo. I do not blow dry as I don't have one (nor have a lot of money to buy one. But recommendations on cheap ones are welcome) So.... what do I do
