As a Rouge who goes to school full time and has to actually work full time to pay for it, I give a tip of the hat to Sephora for disassociating itself with a name now synonymous with privilege. 

I honestly didn't know of Olivia Jade before this scandal, so I was more or less indifferent about her when I learned about her background. What her parents did for the benefit of her daughters has really made an effed up mess out of their daughters lives. Personally I am not convinced that she didn't at the very least know that her parents are the reason that she got accepted. Reading through her comments about how she feels about the value of an education is enough to convince me that she did not deserve the spot that she was wasting. She is a beautiful girl, but she has become the embodiment of privilege and should start thinking for herself. And it is sad that her parents couldn't think of a way to support her daughter's pursuits and talents in a way that didn't screw so many deserving students in the process.

I’m really glad to hear Sephora have taken this seriously and ended relationship with Olivia. This scandal makes me sick as there are others out there who worked so hard to get into college but might loose an opportunity just because they are not rich and privileged. I don’t understand why they had to steep so low. Very sad!

@StephanieBT  I saw this info on the news this evening. Thank you to Sephora for taking a stand. As a mother who has three teenage boys staring down college, I have to say how sickened this whole thing has made me. I’m glad we’re not rewarding privilege with more privilege.
