Vacay Summer Challenge: BIC World Tour – Share your must-haves for a chilly vacay! (Week 8)

Summer is finally here, Beauty Insider Community! To celebrate one of the most fun times of the year (aka Hot BIC Summer 😉) we’re bringing in an exciting new summer challenge in the form of the first official virtual BIC World Tour! ✈ We know not everyone is able to travel at this time, so let’s go together virtually 💕

Each week we’ll have a new vacation-themed prompt where you’ll get to share your fantasy favorites as we travel to different climates and places across the world! 🌎

Check in time: Each Friday launches a new travel destination and prompt, so check back to this post weekly for more vacay fun:

• (Week 1: 7/1 - 7/7) Your ultimate summer vacay: Close your eyes and picture your dream vacay … now answer this question: if you could only bring 5 beauty products along with you on this trip, what would they be?

• (Week 2: 7/8 - 7/14) Hot BIC Summer: Battling against heat and humidity is no easy task! Talk about your most powerful tools, products, or tips that help you fight against the sun.

• (Week 8: 8/19 - 8/26) Cold weather hydration must-haves: Snow, icy winds, and cold temps – it’s not hot everywhere this time of year! Some of those most breathtaking sights take place in the cold! What are you bringing to keep your skin hydrated and feeling healthy?

Nag Champa incense and cinnamon pine cones. 

For as long as I can remember, my mother would always buy those bags of cinnamon pine cones that usually are sold around the holidays. They always bring me back to memories of my childhood at Christmastime. 🎄

My brother always had a thing for Nag Champa. Starting when he was a teenager up until he moved out, he was always lighting Nag Champa incense 😊

Nag Champa, that is such a good one @Shosh85! That is sweet that it reminds you of your brother, and of home. Wish there was a candle that was just a little subtler, yet still evoked that scent 🪔 I would buy it up!

Yes, so true @Shosh85. I have tried to light Nag Champa in more recent years and have also wished for something just a little bit subtler!

I wonder if everyone has those smells that are Christmas for them or bring back those childhood holidays.  Clementines are always the smell of that holiday for me 💚❤️

Week 7: Home is where the scent is

I usually have a different scent in different rooms of the house, but one that I've really been enjoying for the serene comfort it provides is the Driftwood & Chamomile scent from NEST Wellness Collection. I think I have every product from this line now, but my most recent purchase was earlier this summer, the NEST New York Driftwood & Chamomile Misting Diffuser Oil 0.5 oz / 15 ml Driftwood & Chamomile. When I'm away from home, I pour a little of the oil into a small vial to take with me along with portable mini diffuser. I place a drop of the oil onto a cotton pad that comes with the diffuser when I get back to my hotel room after a long day of work, and it creates a nice, spa-like, relaxing feel to unwind. Ahhhh.

The look of the Nest diffuser is very pleasing, @itsfi. The Driftwood scent seems interesting; would be wonderful if it lingered, too.

@eshoe, the diffuser component isn’t from Nest, just the oil is part of the Nest line. The oil lasts a while, a little goes a long way.

Important to know, @itsfi! Just a few drops then, in water, and a reservoir, I think? I thought it was a wall diffuser but maybe it is for the car; either way, it’s very pretty.

@eshoe, that sounds to be right for a misting diffuser that has a reservoir for water, like the diffuser in the NEST New York Nest Misting Diffuser Set but the diffuser I currently take with me for travel (and the one in the photo) does not require water. I place a few drops on a cotton pad that came with the diffuser. There's no wall mount for this diffuser component so as desiged, it's not suitable to attach to a wall or plug into an outlet, but there are diffusers designed for such use, just not this one. You can place it in the car if you wanted; I haven't done so but this can sit on a flat surface, like a nightstand, work desk, or any table in the home.

Oh, ok, thank you @itsfi - that is very helpful! I have a couple of necklaces that were gifted to me that have a vented locket with felt tucked inside for diffusing.

Thank you @Saradestin! about 3, maybe 4 years ago, Muji had a teeny tiny diffuser set - mini bottle with mini pre-saturated diffuser sticks in the bottle - great for on the go. I took it with me to a conference and loved the concept but they only offered it in that one scent so I did some searching online and found a few mini diffusers that seemed to have a similar functionality.

@QueenMarceline, the NEST Wellness line is wonderful. I’ve tried 3 of the 4 scents and like them all. So far this chamomile and driftwood one is my favorite. 💙
