[Update 6/1] We wanted to remind you that starting June 3, the Beauty Insider Community ✨Forum✨ will become read-only with no new posts or replies being made. The Forum will officially retire and become inaccessible come August, so now is a great time to screenshot posts, photos, or conversations from the Forum that you want to save in your personal files.

To our bold, creative, and always curious Beauty Insider Community ✨Forum✨ members:

We’re sharing a bittersweet message today—this coming August we will be retiring this Forum. We know, we’re bummed too.

For more than 15 years, our Beauty Insider Community has been a place for Sephora die-hards to talk about their favorite products, ask questions about routines, and show off their favorite looks. While this was a difficult decision, we've loved seeing this group thrive and we're incredibly proud of what we've built together.

We'll be here every step of the way as we start to wind things down. 🤝 Here's what to expect along the way...

• June 3: The Forum will become read-only and will only be accessible on desktop or mobile (no more app!). This means that you have until June 3 to make your final contributions to your favorite threads (Masking Challenge! Shop Your Stash! April Hauls!), revisit any favorite posts, and connect with your fellow BIC-ers.
• Your Community profile will be retired on June 4 (updated from June 3), and your profile photo will be replaced with Winky. REMINDER: Community Gallery is not going away, so your Gallery posts and profile are here to stay!
• Mid-August: Community Forum and its posts will no longer be accessible.

Have no fear! There are still plenty of ways to stay connected with us:

When is the last day I can use the Forum?

The last day to contribute new posts and content to the Forum is June 3. Starting June 3, Forum content will remain available in a read-only state until early August, so be sure to copy or take any screenshots you may want to save in the meantime!

Will I still be able to send private messages (PMs) to other community members?
Private messaging will no longer be available once the Forum becomes read-only on June 3. After that, we hope you’ll continue connecting with fellow shoppers in other ways by posting in Gallery, Ratings & Reviews, and Q&A.

If the Forum is going away, how do I get in touch with Sephora?

There are still ways to connect with us! Find us on social, or head to our customer service hub here: sephora.com/beauty/customer-service

Will Reviews, Q&A, and Gallery continue to be supported long‑term?

Yes! We hope you continue posting your selfies, shopping hauls, and videos on the Gallery, sounding off on products in Ratings & Reviews, and sharing your beauty expertise in Questions & Answers on product pages.

What happens to my profile picture?

Customized profile photos will be going away on June 4 as part of the Forum closure.

What happens to my username or nickname?

Your Community username is here to stay! It will continue to be associated with any Gallery posts, Ratings and Reviews on product pages, or Question & Answer content you share.

What happens to my badges, ranks, or status levels?

We will say goodbye to Community badges and ranks (for example, FRESH FACE II, RISING STAR III, ICON I) when the Forum retires. Your Beauty Insider tier (Insider, VIB, or Rouge) or any progress on active Beauty Insider Challenges will not be affected! Your BI points will also be unaffected.

Will all my content go away?

Only your Forum content—including your profile (sephora.com/profile/me) and posts—will be going away as we say goodbye to the Community Forum. We encourage you to continue sharing content with your fellow Sephora shoppers on the Community Gallery, Ratings & Reviews on product pages, and Questions & Answers on product pages!

(Updated 6/3) Is there a way to save my posts?

There is now an option to download your Forum content as a CSV or JSON file. To do so, first tap the Settings gear in the top right corner (next to the notifications bell):

Then navigate to Personal Information:

From there, scroll down to “Downloads” where you’ll see options to download your Forum content and information:

PLEASE NOTE: Images will be exported as links within the Forum, which will only be accessible until mid-August. Please save down any images you wish to keep to your local device. 

How long will I have access to save my content ?

You will have the ability to download, screenshot, or save any of your content until the Forum closes in August.

What will happen to all my profile/account information?

Your Community profile (sephora.com/profile/me) will go away as we say goodbye to the Community Forum. You can continue to view your other Sephora information in the following places:

-Beauty Preferences: sephora.com/profile/beautypreferences

-Beauty Insider Summary: sephora.com/beautyinsider

-Account Settings: sephora.com/profile/myaccount

Will old Forum content redirect somewhere else on sephora.com?

Starting in August, previous Forum threads will be redirected to relevant shopping pages on sephora.com or, in some cases, the Gallery.

@itsfi, I find Instagram fairly straightforward. I don't post a lot to my page but I follow all sorts of businesses and people. You can be as active or passive as you want: hearting posts, commenting on their content, or chatting in DMs. I have curate a positive space that keeps me informed and stays away from the negative aspects of social media. I think Discord will be more challenging to learn but we are sticking our toes into something new together. And yes, we need to chat about WG planned newness!

@itsfi you are a definitely such a big part of what made this community feel so welcoming and valuable to me. You've been so generous with the time and thought you put into your challenges and reading your product reviews and tips has been priceless (seriously, you should be a paid consultant)! I hope you know though BIC may be going I will continue to get a lot out of your generous advice whether it be shopping and curating my stash more carefully or thinking of you any time a new Armani product gets reformulated 🙂 I'm glad for the time I got to connect with you here!

Ohhh, you flatter me with your very kind words, @PDXXXX.  I have to say, I would be open to a paid consultant position. 😉😆  It actually sounds like it could be exciting, challenging and fun at the same time! That's very thoughtful and gracious of you to say; thank you. Appreciate it, appreciate you.

Wish we had more time here to connect and chat about all things beauty and fashion and ... all of it! But there will be another time and space for that! From barrel jeans to your spot-on fashion homage to the classics, like Margot from The Royal Tennenbaums and Debbie Harry, etc., you've done more than your fair share of inspiring and influencing on the Forum, including putting me on a quest to find a favorite "come at me" accessory - looooove that! 😍

Oh, the Armani reformulations. My heart always sinks just when I can no longer find a product and I hem and haw over whether to pick up the new version when it is finally released. I have to remind myself that I loved many products from their original makeup lineup when they first launched it and many of those have been reformulated or discontinued entirely and replaced over the years and I've been able to find another love within the brand. I will say that they are doing it right with the reformulation in how they are making foil samples of all shades in the new lineup available at various retailers, Sephora and elsewhere. 👏

@itsfi the kind words were all well earned! Oh, I will miss @danielledanielle 's thread so much! If you're reading this Ms. D know that I regard you as the Queen of The Fit, The Face and The Fab and love how you encouraged people to think about the entire *look* and even inspiration for their looks so much! That "come at me" accessory will find you when the moment is right, I'm sure of it. And too true about HG's always leading to new HG's when they are discontinued or reformulated! I'm always tempted to hoard them but have just as much fun finding an excuse to find the next "can't live without it" thing. Truly though, if you had a substack I would totally subscribe!

Ugh, I have held off on saying my goodbyes to you because you are simply spectacular and I will miss you too darn much!! You gave so, so much to this community and I still wish I could sit at a cafe with you having winding conversations about make up, fashion, music and the like. Like, who am I going to tell now if I finally find a Fendy or Miu Miu silk twilly on Poshmark I both like and can afford?? I keep thinking we should have had, "a funeral for BIC" challenge. I can only imagine what you would have worn but I know you'd be crying inwardly the hardest while knowing the exact waterproof products lest a single tear drop looking like a million. I think it just hits hard because right now, there is so much dismantling of community and familiar institutions everywhere you turn. So, while sunsetting this seems minor to corporate (not @TeamBIC)  (I worked in corporate retail for 20 years), this “third space” was a longstanding source of comfort or routine for a lot of members. 

The copy lines about hoping we will stay connected through things like “ratings and reviews”—no, stoppp. You want to ensure enough data for Bazaarvoice. Who in the world has found “connection” through ratings and reviews? Gtfo.

Obviously, Sephora will do what’s best for the business, but please don’t pretend to pacify anyone’s disappointment with (preexisting) one-way touchpoints like Q&A, reviews or inevitably, an increasing reliance on generative AI. Because nothing feels more like connection than talking beauty with my favorite Large Language Model girlies. 😑

The real connections with real people in this online community will be a huge hole corporate Sephora isn't seemingly concerned with at this moment @happy118. 

I feel the same, reviews etc... are just so empty it was the real talk and convos here that inspired me to try new things and the feedback here was much more believable than reviews. The community itself was a comfort and an important space to so many. I hope they quickly realize their mistake and the community makes a return but who knows what the future holds. 💔
