Monthly Faves: June 2024!

Happy Summer, BIC! I know I’ve been ready for it, and I’m eager to embrace the sunshine with low-maintenance hairstyles, cool down with some self-care, and streamline my makeup routine for a look that’s juuust dewy enough -- only in the places where I want to be. 😅 Some of these picks were even inspired by my fellow Community members, but then again, that’s nothing new! BIC knows best. 😇

@AlexBT I've been neglecting my skin for months.  The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% + HA 2% Exfoliating Serum 1 oz/ 30 mL is helping to make it more bright and even.

@greeneyedgirl107 OMG I've been doing the same. I've been on a spray tan kick for various spring/summer events lately, so I have been super gentle with my skincare and it's missing the heavy skincare hitters of my usual multi-step routine. I'm happy for you that you're on the road to brighter skin!!

Did you find it's a gentle exfoliation?

@CynthieLu I find it to be gentle but I have a high tolerance for acids.  Others might think it's too much.

I've heard lactic acids can be a gentler exfoliator @greeneyedgirl107 but your right, I think it does depend on your own tolerance level. I also love how affordable The Ordinary is 😉

@itsfi it's been so long since I used it that I thought maybe it went bad since the color is yellow-y.  Had to look online to verify.  Thankfully that's how it's supposed to look!

Some tried-and-true and a couple new-to-me beauties make up my favorites this month.

Diptyque Ilio is a clean, light, fresh fruity floral mix - a nice, bright, summer scent. 

I love the silky, balmy texture of the MAKEUP BY MARIO SoftSculpt Transforming Skin Enhancer®  - it allows the product to glide beautifully and blend easily onto the skin. Beautiful as a bronzer and contour depending on the shade, as well as an all over wash of warmth and glow on the face. I've picked up a couple of different shades since receiving the Medium shade as part of a gratis package (thank you, @TeamBIC!) a couple of years ago.

Tower 28 Beauty SunnyDays SPF 30 Tinted Sunscreen Foundation is and has been my favorite skin tint for a while and makes a monthly favorites list every year. A definite Greatest Of All Time (GOAT) 🐐 product in the skin tint category - it evens tones and adds a healthy glow to my complexion.

HAUS LABS BY LADY GAGA Color Fuse Longwear Hydrating Glassy Lip + Cheek Blush Balm Stick Glassy Hibi... leaves a beautiful glassy, dewy shine, and pop of color on cheek and lips. I’m considering picking up the Pomelo shade @AlexBT. I mean, just one more blush couldn’t hurt, right?! 😂 

CAY SKIN Isle Lip Balm SPF 30 with Sea Moss and Aloe Stem Cells Clear has a subtle and lovely vanilla scent, and going into the summer, I like that it contains SPF.

Tatcha The Serum Stick Line-Smoothing Treatment & Touch Up Balm 0.28 / 8g has been a great midday refresher and hydrator for me. There are pros to sitting under an HVAC vent - Pro - I stay cool (or warm), as needed depending on the weather. Con - my already dehydrated and normal-to-dry skin can get even more dehydrated and dry (with dry patches) with the cool air this time of the year, particularly in that space between my eyes. It's been handy to have this balm stick to apply to that area (and others) to rehydrate and refresh during the day.

Touchland Power Mist Hydrating Hand Sanitizer - I have one of these almost everywhere I spend any amount of time - in the car, in various rooms of the house, at my work desk, in my purse, etc. - and in a variety of flavors. I think by now I have tried almost every scent the brand has produced, except the lemon-lime scent, which is the one next to the candle holder.

@Sunnysmom, the Diptyque is a wonderful summer scent. I always end up picking up some limited edition Diptqyue product(s) that I passed on the year before. 😆 Ahh, a good reminder to water my plant 🪴 tonight; thanks.

@faeriegirl, the Touchland hand sanitizers are fantastic! It's been fun trying different scents during the last few years. I know you picked up the rosewater scent earlier. Is that your favorite scent?

@CookieGirl1, thank you. The Touchland hand sanitizers are something that gets used regularly so I don't mind having multiple ones opened and scattered throughout the house. They do look cute all gathered together - a mini family reunion! 😄

@itsfi Inquiring minds need to know.... The Haus Labs lip and cheek balm... Do you find it sticky at all?  I always wonder if I'm going to be peeling my hair off my face?  And how does it last though the day?  There are so many pretty shades!!! 😍

@missjeaniegreat, great questions! This is not the MAC clear lipglass of blushes. 😂 It stays and wears pretty well, best to set it with a setting or finishing powder It's a serum/gel-cream consistency so it will glide on easily and blends easily as well. I really liked that it didn't lift my other makeup 👍. Glides easily over the lips as well, I did apply a balm to my lips before applying this so that helped to smooth lines, etc. I will say that this will probably work better for those with normal or dry skin - it'll likely have too much slip for those with oily skin. My cheeks are dry so it worked well for me.

@itsfi This is great info.  I have a few newer blushes and lip balms I've been thinking about and a point multiplier may be a good excuse for an order... The HAUS LABS BY LADY GAGA Color Fuse Longwear Hydrating Glassy Lip + Cheek Blush Balm Stick Glassy Pita...  is soooooo pretty in swatches!!!
