Monthly Favorites: July 2024 Edition!

GeorginaBT_0-1721779455859.jpeg

What’s happening, BIC? 🌞 I hope you are all staying cool during this hot summer (unless you’re like some of us in the Bay Area, still bundled up in jackets 😉)! Summer seems to always make me want to refresh my beauty routine and experiment with new products. The warmer weather (and, depending on where I am, humidity!) pushes me towards lighter formulas, vibrant colors, and all the SPF! Every year I return to this mission of uncovering summer must-haves that keep me looking and feeling fresh while withstanding the summer sun.

These are the products I’ve been loving so far this month:

Re: Monthly Favorites: July 2024 Edition!

The only thing I've reached for this month was Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm for Hydration & Shine . Gonna pick up Brown Sugar during the FF sale.

Re: Monthly Favorites: July 2024 Edition!

Brown sugar scented sounds lovely @Samtian 😊

Re: Monthly Favorites: July 2024 Edition!

I felt like I landed on some winners this month 🙂

-Etude Fixing Tint in Pink Sprinkle is a longwearing bright baby pink lip that unexpectedly works so well with a lot of looks.

-Into You Fluffy Mist Loose Powder has become a favorite setting powder for me.  It's incredibly finely-milled and delightfully blurring.

-Fwee Pudding Pots have become a new fav blush formula (and I now own three of them).

-Bath & Body Works Blueberry Bundt Cake smells true to its name and I'm always down for smelling like a dessert.

- OUAI St. Barts Hair and Body Mist 3.3 oz / 97 ml  is Summer in a bottle and I get compliments when I wear it

-Softymo Speedy Cleansing Oil is so inexpensive but so GOOD.  It easily removes makeup and rinses away without leaving any residue.

-Isntree Onion Fresh Sun Fluid Sun Cream (which does NOT smell like onion!) is one of the thinnest sunscreens that I've ever used and it feels like nothing on the skin so it's great under makeup.

- Saie Glowy Super Gel Lightweight Dewy Multipurpose Illuminator Sunglow (which I forgot to add into my photo) is a product that I initially didn't think I'd use very much and it has turned out to be so perfect for summer for a light makeup day.

Re: Monthly Favorites: July 2024 Edition!

@CookieGirl1  great faves, they all sound amazing! Between you and @makeitup305  I am super interested in trying the Fwee Pudding Pots, they sound really good (and they're cute, too!). Of course, I really don't need any more blushes at the moment 😅

Re: Monthly Favorites: July 2024 Edition!

@caitbird highly recommend trying them.  They're so cute and the texture is absolutely satisfying.

Re: Monthly Favorites: July 2024 Edition!

@CookieGirl1  thanks for the recommendation! Can I ask where you ordered yours from? They are a K-beauty brand, right?

Re: Monthly Favorites: July 2024 Edition!

@caitbird I got one from Amazon and two from TikTok shop but you can easily get them from Yesstyle, Stylevana, etc.

Re: Monthly Favorites: July 2024 Edition!

@CookieGirl1  ok cool, thanks! I will check those out!

Re: Monthly Favorites: July 2024 Edition!

@CookieGirl1 Great favourites! Is the Etude pink sparkle a lippie?

Re: Monthly Favorites: July 2024 Edition!

@Mellmars1185 yes :).  It's one of their lip fixing tints.

Re: Monthly Favorites: July 2024 Edition!

Beautiful faves! The pudding pots sound really cool! @CookieGirl1

Re: Monthly Favorites: July 2024 Edition!

@peculiarzmakeup they have the coolest texture but besides that they're just good.

Re: Monthly Favorites: July 2024 Edition!

@CookieGirl1  This is a really good list.  I'm interested in all of it!

Re: Monthly Favorites: July 2024 Edition!

@GeorginaBT, ahhhh, good ol' Bay Area "summers", lol. It's ummm.... reassuring (?) the weather will be the same when I get back as when I left? 🤣 I spy some excellent beauties in your July faves - that LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask Intense Hydration with Vitamin C Watermelon Pop smells soooo good 🍉 and I love the Urban Decay Face Bond Self Setting Waterproof Foundation; the formulation on the Haus blush stick is wonderful - lilac is having a moment this summer! Will have to check out that shade.

My favorites this month are a mix of tried-and-true and more recent finds, all of which kept me happy at home and away.

7.2024 Favorites.jpg

Shiseido Clear Sunscreen Stick SPF 50 0.7 oz / 20 g is great for reapplication and fits easily and conveniently in my pocket or backpack.

Tatcha The Kissu Lip Scrub 0.4 oz / 12g - The tag is coming up for me now but it doesn't seem to be available on the mobile app or US site, but maybe soon?! 🤞

I've been very pleased with both the LIGHTSAVER Tinted - Activated Mineral Face Sunscreen Broad Spectrum - SPF 33 1.69 oz / 50 ml and LIGHTSAVER Shade 0 - Activated Non-Tinted Mineral Face Sunscreen Broad Spectrum - SPF 33 1.69 oz / 5... - formulation is smooth and wears easily and comfortably - zero eye irritation (no burning or blurred vision). The non-tinted does leave an initial white cast, even on my light complected skin.

DIOR Capture Dreamskin 1-Minute Mask 2.5 oz / 75 mL is a longtime favorite - I love how quick and easy it is to exfoliate and how gentle too. Makes for a great skin prep before makeup application.

I have the original / older version of the Clarins Lip Perfector Sheer Lip Gloss Rosewood Shimmer - the shimmer is more of a sheen / shine but I love it for giving my lips just a hint of color while keeping them lightly moisturized.

Re: Monthly Favorites: July 2024 Edition!

@itsfi  great faves, they sound perfect for summer! Your photo is so nicely styled, as always. I love the heart-shaped sunglasses and the flip-flops! I will be adding the Tatcha lip scrub to my list for when my current lip scrub is used up.

Re: Monthly Favorites: July 2024 Edition!

@itsfi  The Clarins Lip Perfector is a great product, especially in that shade.  You're right the shimmer is lovely.

Re: Monthly Favorites: July 2024 Edition!

@Ispend2much6, Clarins' lip products have always been solid performers; and the new versions / reformulations are no exception.

Re: Monthly Favorites: July 2024 Edition!

@itsfi Wonderful July favourites! The Dior mask went right into my cart. The Lightsaver products sound lovely. I am on the search for a tinted sunscreen. Hopefully the weather is nice where you are? Love your Sephora swag in your photo. The flip flops are too cute. Now I always keep an eye out for black and white strips. So fun!! 🖤🤍🖤🤍

Re: Monthly Favorites: July 2024 Edition!

Thank you @Mellmars1185! The Dior mask is a well loved product for me; this reformulated version works just as well as the original formula. It sold out everywhere when it was being reformulated (and repackaged). I stalked all the department store and boutique counters looking for it when it was being reformulated. 😆

There’s a new ISDIN Eryfotona Ageless Ultralight Tinted Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 1.7 oz / 50 ml that just came out that is on its way here. Is this available on Sephora Canada?

The weather at the moment is not atypical for summer in the city, which is to say, not a sign of sun in sight. 😞 Maybe in the afternoon though? 🤞🏼 This was what it looked like yesterday morning while I was running errands -

IMG_1799.jpeg

Just to be clear, I was sitting in the backseat, and not driving, when I took the photo. 📷

Re: Monthly Favorites: July 2024 Edition!

@itsfi Oh wow! When the mask was being reformulated, did the original sell out? It must be really good! Thank you for the suggestion of the Isdin tinted spf. Unfortunately, I don't see it on the Canadian site. I do have quite the stash of different face sunscreens I have to get through, so I am sure I can find it the next time I cross the border ☺️. Oh no sun in July ? Aww well I hope you get some soon!

Re: Monthly Favorites: July 2024 Edition!

@Mellmars1185, yes, there was a period of time when months and months went by with no one having the Dior mask in stock or knowing when it would become available - I thought it had been discontinued for good but every Dior sales associates I spoke to about it told me that it would be restocked (and that they too were wanting to get their hands on it) - they didn't say it was being reformulated though. Turns out the performance and results are the same with the reformulation.

We get some sun in July but it's not always warm even when the sun is out. Peak summer weather comes in August - September - October for us, with heat waves coming in 3-day spurts, then a cool period and then a few days of very warm temperatures. The first couple of weeks of October are usually really warm and the rest of October is iffy, except that the crisp, cool, autumn weather generally settles in right before Halloween.

Are there certain SPFs that you're particularly loving?
