‘Tis the season… to pay tribute to our December beauty favorites! Earlier this month, while shopping for gifts for others (thanks in part to all the great recs from our Community Ambassador Gift Guide for the 2021 Holiday Season), the inevitable happened: some extra items for me managed to sneak into my basket. I mean, I have to know if I like it before I can confidently gift something to someone else, right? We’ll call it research! In any case, I’ve acquired some new-to-me beauty staples that collectively carried me through my many December moods – whether I stayed home and couched it with some self-care, or actually went out in my glitzy holiday glam, complete with a highlight you can see from space. 🌌

First Tom Ford highlighter gifted to me by @SportyGirly125 it's stunning!!! @TeamBIC gifted the unbelievably gorgeous KILIAN Paris Apple Brandy Eau de Parfum 1.7 oz/ 50 mL Eau de Parfum Spray I mean,,,, could you really not love this?!! @faeriegirl gifted me my favorite TJ espresso beans 🤤 @sprocketta for this personalized compact 🤗💗 @eshoe for this super special buck pen!!! If anyone doesn't know deer are very special to me, we rehabilitated a baby buck from 3 days old until he was 7 months, the most unique experience ever!! Very touching gift!! I had to throw in these two candles from FORVR Mood Mini You Up? Candle 2.5 oz/ 71 g 1-Wick Candle after using this I bought the FS!! And a new favorite is Cloud Dream, these both are great winter scents!!

I love hearing Buckey's story again and seeing his photos!!! So touching. I never knew such a thing was possible. I love that you saved Buckey's life like this and that you love him so much.

@tsavorite it was incredible!! I did try to get ahold of rehabilitation centers that take on animals like deer, but the closest was 3 hours away, we did have to call the game Warden and get permission, they gave us their blessing and I'm so happy it was successful, he would wait with us for the kids school bus, everyone was just amazed! His favorite foods were cucumber, watermelon, berries and lettuce. 😊

Awwwww @Sunnysmom thank you thank you!!! I get super emotional too!! Thinking of all the effort to help him survive, and not knowing how he is doing, is very very hard,,, I have to tell myself he's not a pet, he's a wild animal,, and we just wanted him to live

@SportyGirly125 I really really regret not tagging him, that way people would know not to shoot him while hunting, but I think not knowing and just being hopeful that he's still out there, is better in the long run, I would be devastated to see someone shoot him,,, and it would get around fast, I've never seen more gossiping in my life, from grown men 🤣

Oh wow, @lmaster.… that baby buck is adorable and that photo doesn’t even look real! I can’t imagine saying goodbye after that long, but life happens, doesn’t it😢 What a very special experience!

Totally not on the same level, but I had a nesting family of flycatchers on my home, right outside my front window. I bought a security camera to watch the nest and the same pair came back year after year. It was incredible watching them. The male would bring her food to eat while she was keeping the babies warm. I think it was the fourth year that they had two broods, then a third. One night when the female left (guessing to get food) she did not return. The male returned, to take care of the fledging, but it did not make it in the end. Pretty sure I cried over that little one. What a gift to share in little bits of nature. I love your photos, thank you for including them!!

Bunnies, too, @lmaster! I caught a bunny hopping across the front yard on the security camera, and my daughter (I think she was six or seven) named it Mischief. It would sneak into the backyard and nibble on the grass and weeds (yes!). It was around a year later that a little baby bunny (named Cheesecake) appeared with her! They both hung out in the backyard and I had to be on the lookout for them when I let my pup out. It’s been a few years but yes, what a gift from nature. I feel very fortunate!
