Feedback Wanted: TeamBIC’s 2023 Holiday Gratis Thread

It’s the holiday season, BIC! ⛄❄️ This year, we gave select members a chance to unbox 10 days of Community Faves as a token of our appreciation for their participation in the Beauty Insider Community. Community Favorites are some of the most talked-about products among members, and we thought we would celebrate these tried-and-true holy grails by gifting them to some of you! 🎁

This thread is a place for those who are receiving these goodies from us to share their gratis – though this won’t be your traditional unboxing. 😉 Without giving too much away, we are highlighting 10 days’ worth of Community Faves, meaning that you’ll have 10 Sephora products to unveil across 10 days … should you choose to refrain from opening them all at once (no judgement either way 😄).

Though our recipients’ packages may take varying time to get delivered, they should all arrive before mid-December. 💙 While you’re free to begin unboxing your gratis as you wish when you receive it, we are challenging you to post photos and share your thoughts on each of the products according to the schedule below so we can all experience the unboxing magic together (starting with the gift labeled “Day 1”)! You can absolutely post product photos and reactions earlier if you like – we might just suggest hiding them behind a spoiler tab to keep the surprise alive for fellow recipients who are still on their unboxing journey. 🙏

Ok the banana for scale, @JoSometimes...I saw the photo and thought it was printed on 😂 I love it, congratulations and ENJOY!!!

Congratulations @JoSometimes . Wow, what a huge box! I probably wouldn’t keep it in the garage just in case. I’ve had some stuff seem a little off from keeping it in a cold car.

@PrettyPaint My thinking was “out of sight, out of mind.” But you’re right, I’d rather not have something be a little off from sitting in the cold. I left a tube of lash glue in my car overnight last winter and it solidified inside.

@JoSometimes Good luck resisting the temptation. When I was a kid, I used to peel back the corners of presents just for a tiny peek, so I'm not so great at waiting.

@PrettyPaint Same! At first it was shaking the box. If it didn’t rattle or rumble, that usually meant it was clothes. Then I learned to strategically lift the tape and reseal it in exactly the same spot. One year though, I remember my aunt wrapped everything in old cereal boxes. That threw me off big time…

Seeing other people's pictures, I had no idea. I'm swooning with how lovely it all looks. So exciting!

I don't know what's in the box, but anything liquid might not survive well if your garage isn't heated and gets below freezing.

I wouldn't leave mine out in the cold, if we're talking below zero temps. In case something froze, cracked or anything like that. We don't know what's inside but it could be something you may not want to deep freeze. But that's just me. 😅 I might worry too much. 😉
