Beauty Insider Community Feedback

Hello beautiful Beauty Insider Community members! 

 

We’re starting this thread for you guys to report any issues and weird things that you are seeing or ask any questions. We have a number of issues logged that we are already working on a fix for, so this is a work in process.

 

Some things to note as you are reporting issues:

  • If you are looking for a thread and can’t find it, please post here. We’ll need to manually move some threads that got lost in the migration to their correct groups.
  • If you are reporting a bug please be specific about the issue you're seeing, how you got there (“I clicked here and it did *this*”), the device you're using and which browser you're in. 

 

Some tips:

  • If you are looking for a thread that you commented on in the old community, go to the front page of conversations and click the “My Posts” tab. This is where you will find all of your conversations activity, including your heart count.

 

It’s good to see you all and thanks for being patient!

 

Whenever reporting a bug we need as much info as possible or our tech team cannot reproduce the issue and verify it's actually occurring. If they can't see the issue they cannot fix it. You cannot overshare details, test on too many devices or share too many screenshots... The more detail the better!

Yes, now I'm seeing this too @greeneyedgirl107! Thanks for letting us know. And I know @peculiarzmakeup was seeing the same last week. We're having our vendor partners look into this!

Thank you so much @GeorginaBT I am not seeing any notifications at all today, just the screen in the picture I submitted below. I got your notification through email. Throughly appreciate the teams efforts to look into this 🙂

@TeamBIC Hello, I normally receive and rely on my notifications through email. I noticed that I only received 2/4 emails from a certain post yesterday. Thank you 😊

Uh oh, thanks for noticing this @Mellmars1185! We didn't get a notification on the Team BIC account for this reply, either. 😮 We'll keep an eye out on this ... let me know if you receive a notification for this reply!

@GeorginaBT I've just noticed this as well, and when I'm logged in on Google Chrome it sometimes says I have no notifications when I go to check myself, they all disappear. Sometimes I can see them, and sometimes I can't.

I am having a similar issue, I tried using a different browser and it seems to be working on there for me for now, it’s interesting because it will show up the notifications on another browser but not in email. @Mellmars1185

Hi BIC! 
I appreciate all the efforts you make to resolve the sign ins I wanted to show something happening on my end in case anyone else is encounting this

For me I can log in and use and still engage it’s just my notifications aren’t showing and a lot of them weren’t showing when they were showing.

Also having this issue on iPad Safari and PC Chrome browsers. iPhone seems to work. Still have to log out and back in on Sephora.com shopping site before being able to access bic but the notifications issue is new in the last week. @TeamBIC

Hi @TeamBIC 

I am noticing I am getting some emails of notifications but not all, I also notice that when the notifications do show up on the BIC community site it will be missing an aspect. 
Example- I will see someone hearted something in my notifications, when I go to the community page, I will see my name tagged in the post that was hearted as a reply but that will not show in notifications. 

This started to occur last night. 
Ive been clicking on the notifications that has helped me see replies although none are being shown in notification feed.

Hi folks! 🙂 Tagging a few of you who have reported sign-in issues in the BIC lately (although it sort of feels like the bugs were affecting all of us!). Our vendor partner is testing a potential solution to the sign-in issues today, and I'm curious to see if any of you notice a difference. I'd recommend clearing your browser cache to give it a little ~reset~, and then trying to log into the Forum as usual. Let me know how it goes! 🙏

@GeorginaBT a little update- I’m still not able to sign in consistently and only when I clear cache on Safari. Same on the app usually. Now I’m not getting all notifications and it also is giving me the no notifications message on the page. Nothing is shown as new if I do get the page.

@GeorginaBT I cleared my cookies and cache on my PC and still cannot log into BIC directly. When I try to log out directly on BIC I get this error.

It seems easier to get on BIC on my Android phone, however.

The iPhone experience seems better. I can go back and forth between community and shopping and remain logged in,  and I can go directly to community and log in which has been an issue ever since this started. Sephora.com and get logged in. Unfortunately, it’s not fixed for me on the iPad/Safari, although I was actually able to login on the iPad for the first time in a long time. But, it’s only after going to Sephora.Com, then logging out and back in again, then going over to community. And the next time, I have to repeat that all over again. And I think still issues on browser but I’ll report back definitively on that next.

Actually, an update, I can NOT  log directly in to  the Community on iPhone or iPad. I have to go to Sephora.com which auto logs me in, then log out, log back in, then navigate to Community. 

However, once I do that process, I can go between BIC and shopping (Sephora.com) without getting kicked back out of BIC.

 

If I just try to go to BIC from Sephora.com, I continue to get that Oops error message. @TeamBIC

@GeorginaBT - I cleared my cache then clicked on a link in an email notification and automatically logged me in BIC and took me to the message.  This is the first time since sometime last year.  I exited BIC and Chrome and went back into email to try and it worked again.
