@Sunnysmom - Bite Beauty was my favorite lipstick and lip pencil until the reformulation. I haven't used it since, but I still dislike seeing the company go out of business. 😪

Ditto for me, @Titian06 Their orig. pledge of using *Food Grade* ingredients was a brill tactic. Plus the great pigmentation & nice shade-range certainly helped. Loved those Holiday sets in the tomato-red tins; AB 'Sake'...how I'll miss ya!

@Sunnysmom I'm eager to learn what you find, and to hear what other BICers think. I'm sure it's a combination of things.

I do think it's worth noting that their reformulations so as to become vegan didn't go over well. I wonder if it will be a cautionary tale about the whole clean, vegan, etc beauty movement.

@greeneyedgirl107 @Sunnysmom I read about this yesterday and went to their site to see if I wanted to pick anything up.... turns out any of their products that were favourites have been out of stock (discontinued) several years ago. I have to think that their discontinuing so many of their hero products then re launching their new vegan status right at the beginning of the pandemic was a combo of bad timing and messing around with their hero products. I get that brands want to be clean/vegan/eco friendly etc etc... but at the cost of alienating your cult following products, then 'replacing' them with lesser alternatives? Bad business in my opinion. Would have been better off to move towards vegan by introducing new products as vegan or by pledging xyz to animal welfare and so on. I will forever miss their lip mask and will treasure my 'Hall of Famer' lipstick.

Totally agree @missjeanie @greeneyedgirl107 . The whole vegan/clean concept seems so tricky and difficult to pull off doesn’t it. I’m going to cherish my oldie fav lips too. And the lip mask. Ah so sad…😔. I really wish Sephora could have pulled it off to resurrect the line. I have a lab super close so I may have to go give it some love. The last ones I got were the old formula and not vegan so I grabbed them!

Def will @missjeanie ! I have been a few times and it was really fun. That’s interesting if they still have AB formula! I was told they were changing over but that was some months ago so maybe that info wasn’t correct. I’ll ask my contact there I think and let you know. I’ll be curious where they do add more stores as they closed the LA location but kept the other one closer to me. Maybe there’ll be a new better strategy as they did say on their post that more stores would be on the way 😊. She also told me I could order in stock shades without going in and they’d just send to me so that’s worth a shot too for anyone!

@missjeanie I agree. The reformulations of the Agave lip mask and discontinuing/switching up so many products at once definitely alienated their consumer base. From their reformulations I only picked up a mini duo of the lip mask and didn't love it and nothing else really ever appealed. I'm glad their lab is still going to be in business, though. I would love to visit a make a custom lipstick one day.

@makeitup305 Agreed on the Lip Lab. I'd love to see them expand. It's a unique experience and knowing they still have the formula out there in a bespoke fashion feels so very much more like their original branding and up my alley. Now I just need to get to traveling more. Maybe a Lip Lab tour round the continent? lol
