Bath & Body Care
SEPHORA COLLECTION - Melting Shower Jelly - Pillow Battle smells fresh and sweet. I was first drawn into the design of the packaging – it has a flat bottom which makes it easy to stand upright in the shower and dispenses from the bottom which makes it very convenient.
Fragrance
NEST New York Wild Poppy Eau de Parfum 1.7oz/50mL has a fresh and fruity scent to it. It’s a bit sweeter than some fragrances I wear but I’ve been liking it, especially for spring.
Haircare
Olaplex No. 3 Hair Repair Perfector 3.3 oz / 100 mL , Olaplex No. 4 Bond Maintenance™ Shampoo 8.5 oz/ 250 mL , and Olaplex No. 5 Bond Maintenance™ Conditioner 8.5 oz/ 250 mL – this trio has been instrumental in the health of my hair. I received the shampoo and conditioner as a gratis last year and loved them both so I picked up No. 3 and incorporating these 3 Olaplex products into my hair care routine has been such a great thing! Before, I’d have to wash my hair every day but not anymore thanks to these lovelies. I saw that Olaplex came out with a OLAPLEX - No. 6 Bond Smoother Reparative Styling Creme and that’s already been ordered. 😉
Makeup
CLARINS - Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil - Raspberry is lovely. It has a gel-oil consistency and glossy shine to it and smells slightly fruity. It’s been my go-to on the weekends or days when I just want something moisturizing but with hint of color on my lips. The honey one is next on my list.
Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Blur Face Primer Blur Primer Gold – While I’m not the biggest fan of the silicones in this primer, this one is quite nice. It glides on my dehydrated-dry skin smoothly, doesn’t dry it out and gives my skin a nice subtle luminous effect that comes through when I apply my foundation over it. I’m not sure if I would purchase a full size, not because I don’t like this one, but I have a couple of primers I want to try / work through first.
MAC Viva Glam IV – one of my favorite lipstick shades and one I’ve repurchased a couple of times now. The MAC site describes it as a warm terracotta plum but on me, it looks a little more neutral with shades of plum, rosy brown and red, depending on the day. Most of the time, I feel like this shade is MLBB and if I apply multiple coats, it can look deeper and more of a plummy red.
BITE BEAUTY - Multistick - Biscotti – I have several of these deluxe samples and, at first, I did not care for the color, but I’ve since started applying it with a lip brush and … LOVE. I plan to transfer the product from this sample together with my other Biscotti samples into a jar to make it easier to transport and I’ll keep the SEPHORA COLLECTION - PRO Lip Brush #85 with it as well.
Skincare
Barefoot Venus Lip Balm Maple Blondie – love this balm’s maple flavor /scent and how this balm makes my lips soft and smooth, and how seriously cute is this packaging?!! I was gifted this balm from @veronika23 (thank you!) and was on a mission to find it when I was in Vancouver and I did! 🙂
MILK MAKEUP Watermelon Brightening Face Mask 1 oz/ 30 g – this solid-serum brightening mask is great for traveling and smells wonderfully of watermelon. Mmmm… I received this one from @bakeamuffin who knew I was wanting to try it (thank you!) and I love it. It glides on easily and does a nice job of brightening and hydrating.
Shangpree Gold Black & Pearl Eye Mask – I have a hard time remembering to apply eye masks, this one and other eye masks. It just slips my mind most times but I’ve been trying to be better at it. These gold black and pearl eye mask do a fabulous job of hydrating and brightening my under eye area. I like wearing these under a sheet mask to add more hydration and brightness to my under eyes.
SUMMER FRIDAYS - R + R Mask – I wasn’t expecting much from this mask when I asked for a sample – curious about it, yes, but I didn’t have high hopes for it, but this one is amazing! It has extremely gentle exfoliating properties, which is helpful when my skin is a little more sensitive for whatever reason, but for me, the best part of this mask is how hydrating it is. Wow. It doesn’t feel particularly extra hydrating when it’s applied, but after I rinse it off, wow, I can feel how hydrating it is! Great for winter for all skin types but all year round for those of us with drier skin. Oh, and it smells amazing, like freshly bloomed roses in a garden. LOVE.
GLAMGLOW - THIRSTYMUD™ Hydrating Treatment Mask – speaking of scent, this one makes me happy; coconuts and a tropical getaway in a jar. I use this as either an overnight mask or daytime moisturizer. I’ve purchased and repurchased this one and will continue to do so.
BKR - Paris Water Balm – I’m the person who has several lip balms in her purses, her drawer at work, her gym bag, her coat pockets, on her nightstand, on the side table, etc., etc. If I had a beauty “thing” that I can’t get enough of, it would be sheet masks and lip balms. This one softens and hydrates my skin nicely and I love that the full size can also be kept in a special cap (BKR - Paris Water Balm Cap ) that you can purchase for a bkr bottle.
Kate Somerville Liquid ExfoliKate® Triple Acid Resurfacing Treatment 4 oz/ 120 mL – I received this as part of a gratis and while I am a huge fan of chemical exfoliants, I was nervous about this product, in large part because I heard of how potent the original (non-liquid) version of ExfoliKate is. I didn’t need to worry, this Liquid Exfolikate is marvelous! I worked up to using it without having to dilute it and I incorporate it into my routine once every 1-2 weeks depending on how my skin is feeling. A little goes a long way so it’ll be a while since I go through this bottle, but it’s good so I would purchase another one when I get through this one.
Tools
Swoon for Sephora Universal Lip Gloss Scoop and Applicator – this is an older product but it is soooo convenient and helpful!! It’s perfect for scooping out the last bit of product in tubes of lip gloss, etc. I picked up a couple of these a loooong time ago. Sephor doesn’t carry this particular product anymore, unfortunately; but they occasionally come out with something similar and I hope they do so again…and soon.
BEAUTYBLENDER - beautyblender® electric violet swirl – I love beautyblenders, they’re one of my favorite tools for applying my base makeup. This electric violet swirl one is very pretty; the color and swirls are great for springtime.
