Let's talk beauty sleep! We are hoping you will share a beauty sleep tip that helps you get you get ready for bed. Whether you have a special recipe for a nighttime sleepy drink or a nightly ritual that calms your thoughts, every tip counts. We want to hear your favorite tips so please comment with one sleep tip between 1/16 – 2/11 to enter. 1. NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THIS SWEEPSTAKES OR TO RECEIVE A PRIZE. A PURCHASE WILL NOT AFFECT OR IMPROVE THE CHANCES OF WINNING.  This sweepstakes (“Sweepstakes”) is subject to all applicable laws and regulations. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. ODDS OF WINNING DEPEND ON THE TOTAL NUMBER OF ENTRIES RECEIVED.
2. Sponsor:  Sephora USA, Inc., 525 Market Street, San Francisco, CA 94105, www.sephora.com (“Sephora” or “Sponsor”).    
3. Eligibility:  Sweepstakes is open only to legal residents of the United States (including Puerto Rico but excluding Guam and all other U.S. and foreign territories and possessions not otherwise mentioned herein) and Canada (excluding Quebec residents) who are 18 years of age or older and the age of majority in their state, province or territory of primary residence as of the date of entry, and who has a registered Sephora account (no purchase or payment is necessary to sign up for a Sephora account). To Enter:  To enter the Sweepstakes, view a post from Sephora announcing the Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes Post”) in Sephora’s Beauty Insider Community in the Conversations section (community.sephora.com) during the Sweepstakes Period, and post a reply to the Sweepstakes Post with your sleep tip (your “Submission,” which includes both your reply and your Sephora Community username) In addition, your Submission must comply with all of the Submission Requirements listed below. Posting of your Submission constitutes your unconditional acceptance of these Official Rules. 

Submission Requirements: Your Submission must comply with these Official Rules, including all of the following Submission Requirements:

• No person other than you, the entrant, may be pictured in the Submission.

• You must own all rights to the Submission.    

• The Submission must not contain any third-party trademarks (other than those of Sephora or the brands sold by Sephora), names, logos, drawings, cartoons, photographs, pictures, or phrases.

• The Submission must not contain any nudity, lewd, hateful, vulgar, indecent or obscene behavior, language or material (as determined in Sponsor’s sole discretion), or any other material that is unlawful, harmful, in violation of or contrary to the laws or regulations in any jurisdiction where the Submission is created, invasive of another's privacy, abusive, tortious, threatening or harassing to any individual, partnership or corporation, or is otherwise deemed by Sponsor to be objectionable or otherwise unsuitable for a public forum. 

• The Submission must not contain any images of medical conditions or claims of medical effectiveness, or any critical comments about other images posted on Sephora’s Gallery or their authors.

• The Submission must not contain any advertisements, "junk mail," "chain letters," "pyramid schemes,"  “spam” content or references to other products, offers or websites, or any other form of solicitation.

• The Submission must not contain any email addresses, URLS to other websites, phone numbers, physical addresses or other forms of contact or personal information.

• The Submission must not contain any computer viruses, worms or other potentially damaging computer programs or files.

• Your Submission otherwise complies with Sephora’s Terms of Use (http://seph.me/VTDbQH).    

Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, disqualify any Submission that does not comply with these Submission Restrictions or that Sponsor otherwise deems to be inappropriate in its sole discretion. In the event of disqualification, the Submission will not be entered into the Sweepstakes. 

By uploading a Submission, each entrant understands and agrees that the entrant’s Submission may be accessible for viewing by the general public and any such posting will be deemed made at the direction of the entrant within the meaning of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (US) and the Communications Decency Act (US).             

Only one entry per person is permitted. Use of multiple email addresses/accounts to enter more than once is prohibited. There may be only one (1) named entrant for each Submission, regardless of the number of persons who may have contributed to the creation of the Submission.

In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of the person submitting an entry, the entry will be deemed submitted by the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the Sephora registered account of the entry, which the entrant will have the obligation to establish. Entries generated by a script, computer programs, macro, or other automated means will be disqualified. Sponsor is not responsible for late, incomplete, misdirected, delayed, or undelivered entries, or entries not timely received due to telephone failures, Internet or website failures and disruptions, and ISP problems. Incomplete information may result in disqualification of entry. All eligible entries carry an equal chance of winning.

1. Sweepstakes Period:  The Sweepstakes begins on January 16, 2019 at 12:00 a.m. (midnight) Pacific Time (“PT”) and ends on February 11, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. PT. Entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. PT on February 11, 2019.   
2. Selection of Winners:  Potential winners will be selected from all eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes Period in a random drawing conducted by Sponsor on March 1, 2019 and will be notified by email. Potential winners will be required to provide Sponsor with their full name, mailing address, telephone number and/or date of birth, and may also be required to complete, sign and return an affidavit/declaration of eligibility and liability/publicity release. Canadian potential winners must also correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question in the manner specified by the Sponsor.   For US residents, if the value of any winner’s prize is $600 or more (or $500 or more if Puerto Rico resident), the winner must supply Sponsor with his/her social security number for tax purposes, and complete (if requested) a W9 form.  A winner’s prize will be forfeited upon the occurrence of any of the following:  (i) the potential winner fails to confirm acceptance of the prize and eligibility within five (5) days of notification, (ii) the potential winner fails to return any required documents within seven (7) days of receiving such documents from Sponsor, (iii) the return of a prize or prize notification to Sponsor as non-deliverable; or (iv) the determination by Sponsor that winner is ineligible or otherwise not in compliance with these Official Rules. If a potential winner forfeits a prize or is deemed ineligible, an alternate winner will be selected by random drawing from all remaining eligible entries until a winner is determined.  If any alternate similarly forfeits the prize, Sponsor will use a reasonable number of attempts, in its discretion, to award the prize to another alternate but if it is unable to do so, the prize will be finally forfeited and Sponsor shall have no further obligation to award the prize.  All decisions of Sponsor are final and binding on all entrants.  Limit one prize per person/household.  Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received.
3. Prizes:  Five (5) grand prize winners will each be awarded a grand prize with an approximate prize value of US $614 / CAD $815.

After a good night time skin care routine, I like to drink hot tea to soothe and relax and maybe watch an episode of a show before sleep then I turn all the lights off, put on some soft quiet music, bundle up in a bunch of blankets then I’m out like a light

MAJOR sleepy time tips — - Don’t go to bed angry. If I’m ever angry, riled up, or upset, I always take a few moments when I’m tucking myself into bed to focus on deep, regulated breathing. I have a small lavender plant on my nightstand + lavender hand moisturizer, so I’ll apply some and continue deep breathing until I’m calm enough to settle in. Anger = wrinkles, y’all! - I wash my face for a full minute at night. It’s incredible relaxing for self-care purposes and great o really cleanse your skin and prepare it for a night of reparative sleep! Toner + night oil massaged in, and I’m set. - SATIN / SILK PILLOW CASE. I can’t even express how much I swear by this. It’s easier on your hair AND your facial skin. I also change my pillow case a couple of times a week to make sure it’s not accumulating too much dead skin. - Lastly, make sure your room is cold at night. Maybe not icy cold freezing, but definitely not warm and toasty. Cold temperatures in your bedroom prepare your body for sleep as your body naturally decreases its temperature while you are asleep. Colder temperatures typically lead to deeper, more restful sleeps that you get to quicker, because your body has been alerted that it’s bed time! Cheers to many nights of deep, restful, and satisfying sleep!

The sleep tips I swear by are making sure you are tired enough to fall asleep before you go to bed. I typically find that I tend to sleep better when I actually am really tired. I also sleep better when the room I'm sleeping in doesn't contain too much light. I don't like it when a room is too dark, though. Being in as comfortable of a sleeping position as possible helps me to sleep better, too. When my body temperature is just the way I would like it to be, I sleep better as well. I feel having as comfortable of a mattress as possible can also help people to sleep better. Having a comfortable pillow is important as well.

A good nights sleep is essential so I recommend installing a white noise app on your phone. It comes in handy for travel. I prefer the brown noise setting but there are a bunch to choose from.

My husband has named my style of unwinding, he calls it "Relax Til You Drop". But I do have a routine I swear by when I am really trying to stick to a strict bedtime. I shower about an hour ahead of time, make sure I don't apply any skincare products that might stay sitting atop my skin or feel tacky at all (obviously this rules out testing new products), and then I put on something fresh and clean in cotton, go to bed, close my eyes and tell myself a story. I have yet to make it past the first scene. I've been on the same scene for a couple years now.

A little while after dinner, I start drinking some warm tea before heading into the shower. I usually shower & wash my body and face before bedtime,sometimes using Kopari coconut crush scrub to get exfoliated and smooth, then use the BITE lavender lip mask or Laniege lip mask and the face sleeping mask. I am trying to minimize being on my phone within an hour of trying to sleep, and replace it with reading for a little bit to wind down. It also helps to have a mister with essential oils with lavender by my bedside if I'm really having issues falling asleep (I'm obsessed with anything lavender). I'm all about that self-care in 2019! Take a hot shower, follow nightly skin routine, and wear my fave pajamas help to fall asleep super fast. Preparing a cup of tea and focusing on my breathing helps as well. Allowing yourself to actually have a bedtime is helps a lot in having enough and good sleep!
