Im trying like crazy to get an answer thru the live chat for my IQ color match in Fenty's foundation. So far no one has given a single answer. Please!!!! If you can help! What shade will match 3Y09? Thanks a lot
My face iq is 3y09 and fenty 310 works well. I hope that was helpful.
There are definitely a lot of differences between matching from color iQ to getting matched in store. I've been kind of running an experiment to see how different Sephora employees will match me to Fenty Beauty and they all pick and settle on something different. Instead of looking for shades based on your color iQ number try searching by FB shades to see how close they are to your color iQ. You're 3Y09, shade 300 is 1Y10 (less yellow and a shade darker), shade 310 is 3Y10, shade 250 is 3Y08, and shade 270 is 2Y08.
This was a while ago so you probably got "matched" already but in case you were interested.
Did you find a shade ? Im the same color and asking for the same foundation

Hi!
So I went to Sephora and my shade is 3Y09 and the match was 300, I also pick a sample of 290 just to mix it a little bit! Hope it help😊
I replied to OP with this.

If you can, I would recommend just going to the store and getting matched in person. Here's why: Color IQ gives you a few ways to match your foundation shade and each way can give you different results. Regardless of which route you take (i.e. obtaining your Color IQ in store or selecting an existing foundation shade you use) it's not always 100% accurate -- the intent (I believe) is to put you in the ballpark so you can narrow it down, swatch, and make a decision based on how it looks.
Take me for example, I'm an NC42 (MAC) and when scanned in store my Color IQ is 3Y09, like yours. NC42 translates to Color IQ 4Y08 (via Sephora website). When I went in store to get matched for FB, I ended up getting shade 310. FB shade 310 translates to Color IQ 3Y10. The one time I made an online purchase of a foundation using my in-store Color IQ (3Y09) alone, I purchased MUFE UHD in shade 128=Y145 -- and it turned out to be a little too dark for me however, it was in the ballpark. (Which is what Color IQ should do.)
For those saying that because FB is new the Color IQ system hasn't been updated yet, I don't know if that's true. I was able to use Color IQ to match to a specific FB shade online. I think the issue is that we're dealing with computers that have specific algorithms to assign specific foundations and shades with unique Color IQ references. That's not an easy thing to do and theory doesn't always equal reality in the makeup world. If the system doesn't find a foundation that matches your Color IQ EXACTLY (based on the algorithm, which may not be a 100% match in real life) it won't show up in your list of Color IQ matches.
That's my two cents. *shrug*
Do you mind sharing which Makeup forever shade you chose in the end? I’m nc42 too and the store associates keep giving me different colors. Thank you
Would anyone know what my color match would be? My color IQ is 1R14. For reference my shade in MUF ultra HD is 180 = R530
FB shade 430 is color iQ 2R13, shade 440 is 3R13, shade 450 is 2R14, and shade 470 is 2R15. Shade 450, while its a little bit redder than what you were color iQ matched is closest. But of course going in and trying is best.
For reference, my color iQ is 3Y05 and shade 190 was the best for me and thats 1Y05. From other lines, I can wear a Urban decay Naked in shade 3 which is 5Y06 and Nars pure radiant tinted moisturizer in Groenland which is 2Y06. Neither of those last two shades are perfect though but they blend out well and don't look weird. So there's quite some variation on what works.
Hi OP,
We have the same Color IQ and I'm a perfect match to 320. For reference, I used to use MAC Foundation in N42 and N60 for Cover FX.
I bought the Fenty Beauty Match Stix Trio in Light and am having a hard time with the concealer. I have very dry under eyes, huge bags and lots of fine lines. The concealer seems to emphasize my bags and lines! I tried blending it out with a drop of face oil, no bueno. Seemed to lift all the concealer off of my face. Someone please help, I really want to love it!
I am trying to find the same thing! My Color IQ results don't show anything Fenty which is surprising for the number of colors she has. Did you happen to find out?
I went to sephora today and they told me the Color IQ hasn't been updated yet because it's still 'too new' and that it should appear soon. For anyone who is a 2Y04 or NC15, I was matched to 120.
Just curious, do you think it's a good match? I've been kind of running an experiment to see how sephora employees match me in that line and based off the couple times I've done the color iQ and it's incredible how far often many of them are. I feel like in stores they blend it out so much that they have a wider range to fudge it.
Instead of putting in your color iQ number you can search by FB shades to see what each shades match is. FB 120 matches to 2Y03 and FB 150 matches to 1Y04. The differences is how much yellow but they are both labeled as neutrals. If you feel washed out maybe try 150.
