Post in Trans is Beautiful

Is covering up a stubble/5 o'clock shadow something anyone doing makeup at the store would know?

Hi everyone, I'm trans and am thinking about getting makeup done for my birthday and would want that to include having my stubble covered up. Is that a basic skill anyone who is doing makeup at a store knows or should I like call in advance to see when someone who specializes in it is available?

Sorry if this is a silly question, I don't have any prior experience with doing this haha.

Thanks for the help!

@RoseKatz111 That’s so exciting that you’re going to pamper yourself on your birthday. I hope you enjoy the experience!

Colour correction is a skill that most makeup artists should have down. It’s a trick used for all kinds of discolouration and blemishes, not just hiding beard shadow. I would suggest mentioning it to the makeup artist at the beginning when you’re discussing what kind of look you want. They will likely apply a peachy-orange product over your shadow to neutralize the bluish hue from it. Make sure you do a great job of shaving before you go. The makeup will only look as good as the base it’s on. Have fun!
