What skin care brand/products should I try?

Hello! I'm nearly done with my skincare products, and I need some help choosing!

I have had a lot of pimples, black spots, pores, scarring for about 6 years now. The first time I really felt like the products I used were working I used Biotherm Biosource mousse and the toner, serum and moisturizer in the same range. At some point it stopped improving my skin, and I wanted to try something new. The cleanser felt a little bit stripping, but that was the only downside about the cleanser. It felt AMAZING on the skin otherwise.

I moved on from Biotherm (even though I still love the brand and products...) and went on to using the Ole Henriksen On the go-cleanser, toner, serum and night creams. They do the job, the cleanser cleanses REALLY well (thumbs up!), but can feel a bit stripping sometimes, and I don't like the anti-aging part of the range because I'm 18 and doesn't need it yet! 🙂
Recently I started using tea tree oil on my pimples, and Lush Magnaminty mask/exfoliator. They have done wonders for my skin - love them!

So, a little bit about my skin:
Combination, but more oily than dry.
Have a lot of pores in the t-zone where I get oily. Get pimples all over my face, but mostly on my chin, cheekbones, and a little bit on my nose.
My nose has gotten more oily the past couple of months (because of the warm weather I think...), and it's hard for me to exfoliate or wear make-up over my nose because I get dry+oily at the same time, and the makeup seperates and gets all gross.
How my skin is right now: Pretty oily. Can only use a very, very thin layer of foundation over my nose, but I dont have that many pimples, and the scarring is less visible. I finally feel comfortable (at least compared to before...) not wearing make-up.

I've been thinking about Boscia or First Aid Beauty. I prefer all the products to be in the same range. I don't want something too harsh on my skin. I want something light, that will help improve my skin without doing too much, if you know what I mean. For example, I hardly ever use moisturizer on my skin (only after exfoliating, or after a long vacation and a lot of sun-exposure), and I have the softest babyskin - I never get dry skin, and I think that is because I have never been the person to use moisturizer regularly, and my skin produces everything it needs for itself.

Anyway, a lot of words here! Do you guys have any recommendations for me?
Thank you! 🙂

Re: What skin care brand/products should I try?

I have similar skin, just a bit drier and more sensitive.

I personally did not like First Aid beauty.. I just didn't get the hype.. I wasn't a fan of their ingredient lists either. They were chemical ingredients that were considered "safe" not necessarily beneficial (this is my opinion)

I like Boscia, but I don't love them either.. I feel like with natural brands like Fresh, Origins, Caudalie, and Boscia, its has to work well together with your skin's chemistry.

but not ALL products from a brand is good.. like for example, Fresh has great moisturizer, masks, and cleansers but I dislike their toners, serums, and eye creams especially for the price.

Boscia has great masks, cleansers, eye cream, and oils; but their moisturizers, serum and toner isn't that great.

Caudalie's eye creams, moisturizers, serums, cleansers, are great, but their masks are not more than OK; plus they can be quite pricey.

I know you want something from the same line, but I strongly advise doing some research, trying our some samples, and using "better" products from different brands. to make your own skin care line

Re: What skin care brand/products should I try?

FAB is an excellent skin care line. I would also check out the Pomegranate products from the Korred line since they are specifically designed for oily/combination skin.

Re: What skin care brand/products should I try?

I have combination, sensitive, acne-prone skin. I think FAB has excellent products. In particular, I love its cleanser. I looooooove the cleanser even more with a Clarisonic -- a match made in heaven!

boscia's acne/black line is also excellent. If you are thinking about using just one line, then I would think the Boscia black would be better a choice for your acne-prone skin for your skin than FAB.

I dont use use just one line myself but borrow from each line. Some of my faves:

-- Tria Foam Cleanser -- amazing,velvety wonderfulness

-- Paulas Choice 1% BHA exfoliant lotion

-- Dr Gross Age Erase Moisturizer

-- Dr Denese Hydroshield Serum

and my Rx tretinoin (Atralin) is my precious.

i also think, though, that an Rx for your acne is probably a better choice for you in treating your acne. If you have insurance, it may even be cheaper!

Since the acne has lasted years, rather than over the counter products ask a doctor for Aczone. It's dapsone gel and does clear up everything quickly. The skin will get used to products after some time. A doctor will also address the various skin types you're experiencing and can recommend products. Also ask them who they recommend for a good facial, to clear the pores and decongest the skin.

Are you drinking enough water daily, to flush toxins out? A big dairy intaker? Dairy, since of the extra hormones, can help lead to more acne, usually seen in the jawline and chin.
