What's up with Josie Maran products? (seeking product suggestions)

I've been a fan of Josie Maran products for about 4 years now. I am a faithful user of the 100% Argan oil and the oil cleanser. 

Occasionally, I check out reviews for products that I'm using. I noticed that since November 2019, there has been a spike in reviewers all over the internet saying that they're receiving oil that smells rancid and needs to be returned (it's now April 2020 and I'm still seeing those reviews). The worst is that when they exchange the oil, the new bottle isn't any better. As a regular user, this makes me nervous. Like many others, it's time for me to restock, but I don't want to go through these same problems. 

Also, I recently restocked the cleanser and noticed there was a strange separation and film in the bottle. I understand that products separate sometimes, but I've never experienced that with this cleanser before.

Has anyone heard anything from the brand? Is there a bad batch of Argan oil out there, or are they selling old products? I would hate to leave them, but I've already started looking at other brands 😕 . Comparable product suggestions welcomed.
