What are good products to combat redness or rosacea?

I'm looking for a serum, moisturizer, or skin treatment that helps with redness. I always look flushed and have very mild rosacea  but my dermatologist says its not severe enough to warrant medication or treatment. I have already tried concealer, color correctors, and makeup primers (Smashbox's green photo finish primer and most of clinique's color correcting products, and some drugstore brand ones) and am sick of spending money on products that don't work. Makeup primers and color correctors do work when I initially put them on but within an hour i feel like i need to re-apply because my face looks super red again. Please help!

I'm sure you're getting frustrated after spending the time searching out and the money on buying products that haven't worked.  I'm sorry you've had such a tough time finding the right products.  I am not a big fan of Smashbox primers.  Have you ever tried a different brand of primer to see if it will help your makeup and concealer stay on better?  I think a better primer to try is Make Up For Ever's HD Microperfecting Primer in (1) Green shade to neutralize redness and you can read about it here:

I would recommend Clinique Redness Solutions Targeted Corrector which is a concealer that is smooth, creamy, oil-free , and instantly camouflages visible redness, but you said you had tried Clinique's Redness Solutions products.  If you haven't tried this particular concealer, though, you may want to read about it and consider it.  You can find it here:

However, if you have already tried the Clinique concealer, a fantastic concealer that will cover just about any kind of imperfection is Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer which you can read all about here:

By the way, a product that is supposed to treat the redness and not just mask it is Murad's Redness Therapy Recovery Treatment Gel which is a patented, lightweight gel that penetrates to relieve redness and irritation.  You can read about it here:

I hope this helps you. Smiley Happy

I too have rosacea and after trying green tones correctors and primers and calming drugstore moisturizers, i finally bought Revaleskin night cream - it has Coffeeberry and has been proven to calm redness for people that have Rosacea. It has been recommended by dermatologists and has been working well for me, so i recommend trying it out.

I like NARS skin. I find it very calming and has taken my ever red/pink skin (no rosacea tho) and made me much more fair. Seriously my foundation shade is a little off now. I would recommend the balancing moisturizer, foaming cleanser, and hydrating freshening toner (if you need oil control consider the balancing toner).  I saw a difference within the first week, and was told to expect full effect in 6 weeks.

I highly recommend checking out Clinique's Redness Solutions line! There are treatment creams, a daily base -- even foundation and powder available. The Daily Relief Cream is here:, but you can find many other products, too. They calm and neutralize redness, flushing, blushing, etc.

Just FYI, Murad also offers products targeted toward redness, as does First Aid Beauty.

Good luck!
