Very itchy skin after gentle exfoliation & moisturizing

Does anyone else have this problem after they exfoliate? Why does this do this? Any suggestions on how not to itch? I exfoliate with a body scrub and a exfoliating glove and then moisturizer afterwards. Thanks!

Re: Very itchy skin after gentle exfoliation & moisturizing

@Bulad24  Just to clarify: are you using the body scrub + exfoliating glove on your face, or just the rest of your body? I assume (and hope) the latter. 🙂 A body scrub + exfoliation glove would be too harsh for your face.

When my body itches after a shower, it’s usually because my skin’s too dry or I’m having a bad reaction to the shower gel or scrub I used. I don’t take hot showers anymore because hot water results in dry skin for me. I have exfoliating gloves, but I never use them with a body scrub. That’s more exfoliation than necessary and can cause irritation. I use one or the other, usually gloves + shower gel; I rarely use a body scrub anymore. I apply body lotion to my skin while it’s still damp so I can seal in some hydration.

Aside from all that, your skin might be sensitive to something in your body scrub. But try using just the scrub without gloves, or the gloves with a non-scrub shower gel/bar and see if that helps you feel less itchy.

Thank you! I don't use the gloves on my face, just body. I will try without the exfoliating gloves and see. Thank you again!
