Hello! Can someone please give me a really good recommendation for a face cream or/and oil that will help me with dryness y flakiness?
@Kathleenkmps Drunk Elephant Bora Barrier Rich Repair Refillable Cream with 6-Butterlipid Complex 1.69 oz / 50 mL
Thank you!
the lanaige water bank moisturizer is AMAZING it is around $40 but it is so worth it
Thank you!
I’m a dry skin girlie too and one of the key ingredients in skincare products I’ve found to be helpful in combating dryness is ceramides, which helps restore and nourish the skin barrier.
Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin™ Skin Barrier Moisturizing Cream 1.7 oz / 50 mL
belif The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb with Peptide and Ceramide
Although I’m not certain if these have ceramides in it, I also like TULA Skincare 24-7 Moisture Intense Ultra Hydrating Day & Night Cream with Hyaluronic Acid + Squalane 1.5 oz / 44 mL and Skinfix barrier+ Strengthening and Moisturizing Triple Lipid-Peptide Refillable Cream with B-L3 3.3 oz / 100 ml for the hydration they provide on the skin. They’re a little expensive but you get your money’s worth!
I’ve ran out of them and wanted to try Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench® Hyaluronic Acid Rich Barrier Moisturizer for Skin Barrier and Dewy Skin 1.7 oz / 50 mL so I purchased it and am currently using that. So far so good!
Also I’ve been exfoliating a lot lately (2-3 times a week depending on how my skin feels but definitely do not overdo it!) and I recently purchased Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta® Extra Strength Daily Peel Pads and so far my skin is loving it! Definitely on the more expensive side but it’s a good investment IMO. It comes with 30 + 5 free pads and I only use it 2-3 times a week so it’ll go a long way. It’s very potent (I use the extra strength one) so I’m careful not to overuse it.
Hope this helps! 🙂
Thank you I added the peels pads to my basket.
@Kathleenkmps @Do you exfoliate your skin at least once a week?
New Sephora employee and I would suggest
The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil for Skin Elascicity 1 oz/ 30 mL
Caudalie VinoHydra Deep Hydration Moisturizer 2 oz / 60 ml
Thank you! I haven exfoliate in a long time. Just wash my face and put cream.
@Kathleenkmps What’s your current skincare routine (brands + product names)? Just wondering if your flaky dryness might be solved by tweaking your current routine (beyond a new moisturizer or facial oil).
Without knowing that info, I’ll suggest The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil for Skin Elascicity 1 oz/ 30 mL as a good hydrator and flake smoother. Or you could try squalane which is a very good moisturizer for dry skin; The Ordinary 100% Plant-Derived Squalane for Skin and Hair Hydration 1 oz/ 30 mL is one of several on the market.
I recommend applying a cream moisturizer atop either of those oils. When my skin’s in dry flaky mode—especially in winter—I top my moisturizer with a petrolatum balm for maximum moisturization, and to protect my skin from chapping and windburn. Sometimes I use a balm only where my skin’s excessively dry and/or flaky; other times I apply a thin layer to my entire face. I use either Aquaphor Ointment or CeraVe Healing Ointment (if you’re sensitive to lanolin, avoid Aquaphor), but Vaseline would also work. I just don’t like the texture of 100% petroleum jelly. And whichever moisturizer I use, I apply it while my skin’s damp to help seal in hydration instead of dryness.
Thank you so much for the information. Im using the skinfix cream. The blue bottle. I just wash my face and put cream. I haven’t apply anything else lately. I was using also de snail secretion from a brand the Ulta sells. But I thought that was the problem. Not sure.
@Kathleenkmps add a humidifier to your bedroom. Hyaluronic Acid can help too as the first step in your skincare routine. The INKEY List Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Hydrating Face Serum is a great product.
Thank you I didn’t think about the humidifier. Maybe I’ll try it. Do you have one that you can recommend?
@Kathleenkmps I'm currently struggling big time with dryness and have been on the hunt for similar products. I'm only a week into it but Skinfix barrier+ Strengthening and Moisturizing Triple Lipid-Peptide Refillable Cream with B-L3 0.5 oz / 15 ml is helping a lot. I'm also using Tatcha Indigo Overnight Repair Serum in Cream Treatment 1.7 / 50 at night and it's been great. I've also heard really good things about Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin™ Skin Barrier Moisturizing Mask 0.77 oz / 22 g.
Thank you! Yes Im using the skinfix one too but nothing else as for right now.
