Toners: Should we go steady?

I recently became aware of the importance of toners and even better, the JOY of toning! I swear, these days I can't wait to cleanse my face and jump out of the shower to apply one of, well, five or so toners I've bought in the past month or so. I love toning and the wide array of toners out there so much that I can't stop buying - and even making - them!

To give you some idea of what I'm working with, I have a Goodal (Korean) "double bright" milky white and creamy toner (probably my fave), Thayers' witch hazel toner with rose petals (second fave?), Mario Badescu facial spray with aloe/herbs/rosewater (not so crazy about this), another k-beauty Goodall toner for "pore perfecting," and a couple homemade experiments (like apple cider vinegar/tea tree/lavender EO).

There's no question I am fanatical. But the question I DO have is this: is it a good idea to switch up my toners daily - after every cleanse, etc., or to use one for several weeks/months at a time? Since I am fairly new to toning I suppose using one at a time would be the wisest decision in order to be sure which results were coming from which product, however I can't help wanting to wear different toners every time! Are there any NEGATIVE effects to switching up my toners routinely?

RE: Toners: Should we go steady?

To really see tangible benefits from a specific product beyond the standard extra boost of cleansing & exfoliating & prepping for the rest of your routine, better to stay with one toner for a few weeks or so. When it comes to negative effects, that would most likely depend on your skin type and specific skincare needs and concerns. I've tried the Mario Badescu rosewater facial spray you mentioned, and can see why you wouldn't be crazy about it haha. I don't like it for a post-cleanse toner at all, but have come to love it as a soothing burst of refreshment on hot days, at the gym, on a hike etc 😌
